Hiro Protagonist Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 In Newcastle at least, the P-platers and bimbo Excel drivers are rivalled by the industrial workers for their sheer inattentiveness and ignorance of road rules (and that is saying something, when 80% of the population barely bother to use indicators or check blind spots). I've lost count the number of times I've been cut off or seen a beat-up Falcon/Commodore flying down the shoulder or weaving in and out of traffic, with a sleepy angry hi-viz-wearing tool behind the wheel. Seems like they are paid at work by the second so they must save every single one they can in getting there, and every single second on the way home is potential lost beer-drinking time, so doesn't matter if it is morning or night - you WILL be forced off the road.
t18drifts Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 my old boss used to go around cars at intersections an turn in to the incoming traffics turning lane to get around he scares me :blinks:
camcam Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Hey guys. Its awkward sharing this because alot of rollaclub members are P platers. About 10 times in the last week i have seen stupid little weeds treating their corolla's like they are f@$kin 600hp drift cars. What really set me off (and I'm still worked up), was a fat little c**t and his 12 foot tall mate in a red ke70 here in toowoomba, almost took out a woman and her kids in a car, revving the ring out of the poor old bitch, just driving like f@$kheads in general, so i gave them a few "words". Then they followed us around for half an hour while my fiance held me in the car, still wanna beat the snot out of them and help them wake up!! I remember being that age, learning how to control a car etc, but we did it where it was safe, and no one else would be hurt if something went wrong. P platers please remember you are not bullet proof, and if you have an old school rolla, escort, gemini, torana etc, treat it with some f@$kin respect, and treat other road users with respect, or someone like me will flog the snot out of ya!!! Would like to hear other peoples opinions and stories! Edit. I am not picking on P platers, or saying they all drive the same. agreeed i love skids man i do I'm not gonna lie i do skid my self .but i go too places that there is know one to hurt i never do it with people in car too. i hate wankers that do it near schools or shops or anything .so what I'm saying is do skids but be safe about it go to mallala .go to dead end roads but BE SAFE!!!!!!!!
carbonboy Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 This is one of my favourite games to play when on my way home from work, especially through school zones. When they get right up my arse I will sit next to the car in the other lane. I'll speed up a bit so they get behind me, then slow down, they change lanes again but still can't get through. I'm in no rush to get home, and I'm sure your not going to miss anything by getting where ever you're going a minute or 2 later. I love playing this game, especially when they cut me off to get ahead then get screwed over by a car wanting to turn right & I pass right by them. P plate women drivers...... More so the ones that can't figure out depth perception and think the 2 second rule of thumb is where they sit about half a metre away from the car in front. Drunk drivers, that brings up a interesting memory of the time i came close to getting wiped out by one who was unlicensed and yet his wife was licensed and sitting between them was their four year old daughter.... Sometimes the best way of learning something is the dumb mistakes of others. Which is why i'll never drink and drive. I'm not proud to say this but I have.....years ago on my P's I decided to drive home after (quite) a few drinks & did the old "I'll take the back roads home, she'll be right" routine. Turning off the tarmac road onto the gravel back road I noticed a set of headlights following me & fork me if it wasnt a divvy van! WTH, at 3am? Drove along for a few kms thinking that I was going to be pulled over at any second, scared as hell & shaking like a leaf so I dunno how I managed to drive semi-smoothly. Got to the intersection where the road became tarmac again, I turned left, they turned right. I got lucky, that was enough to hit home to me what a complete knob I was doing what I was doing. Just my 2 cents. Have also done my fair share of stupid driving, I try to pick my moments but seeing as what I'm driving atm is a complete poo-bucket I'm waiting to hit the track once the project car's finished. GT5 on PS3 isnt enough to get the urge out of your system!! Oh, isnt it spelt Mark Skaife?
SLW42 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Honestly the best way to stop crashes on the street is to send EVERY newly aquired licence holder to a defensive driving course, but NO that would cost to much to do, for example, the gov should make it compulsary to have the learner drivers undertake a d.d.c before they are even eligible to obtain there red P plates. I have done stupid shit on the streets, in most of my cars, while it's fun to kick the shit outta the clutch in 2nd gear and start skating across 2/3 lanes, i've fish tailed up beaudesert rd at 8am in the morning in peak hour traffic on a rainy day, i have also done shit on the skid pan at QR, and honestly i had more fun learning control of drift doeys/figure 8's on the skid pan than i have ever on the street doeys lock to lock across 2/3 lanes on quite roads. Call me a hoon call me a f@$kwit, i've lost my licence over 5 times now and am building a track car for the stupid shit so i only hurt me and my car, i still love the odd drift sesh but now it's only passengering in a mates cars on QR, or out on the skid pan practising myself I'm not about to start telling P platers to go be a f@$kwit on the street but there is a time and a f@$king place for it, it's the track or a private property

forcexx Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 i think the most dangerous people on the road are those that don't really know how to control the car. if you drive a falcon (p plater, 25yr old male, 40yr old female, 80yr old grandma), and you have never experienced oversteer, the first time it happens you will end up in a spin.similarly if you have never experienced understeer in a FWD, the first time it happends you will end up in a tree. now why don't we teach people better and get them prepared for when its going to happen? this is incorrect, years of playing video games helped me dodge these bullets. I went and did a defensive driving course before i got my Ps and i already understood what to do when it came to oversteer. Understeer is a different thing and the first time i experienced it, I came out fine. One thing that i really learnt from the defensive driving course was how to avoid accidents by properly breaking and steering. i will admit i have not paid much attention lately on the road and because of this have avoided a few close calls in the last couple of months. yeah some people are correct some P platers are complete f@$k wits, but it is not just P platers. See it for yourself, go out around brisbane on a week night, especially thursdays.
stable20 Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 desserted reoundabouts is were i go, grass paddocks, but when I'm on the road i like to keep it consirderbly safe. thats just stupid what they did with that lady and her kids should go let there tires down =].
Ke-rolla-70 Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 I'm a p plater and i will admit i used to be a hoon when i had an old school commodore but being an idiot it was a wet day and i took it out and not 200m from my house i slide out and went into a stobie pole, ever since then ive been a pretty careful driver and respected most drivers except those fully sick vs commodore drivers :P
ToasticlesAe82 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 if you drive an xr6 or s/ss ute your d@$k is obviously huge. p-plater here fwd in the rain = you know what understeer is, yeah i admit i'm a tool driving around with my subs full ball, wheel spin off the line at traffic lights come at me tho cause i don't cause accidents like every other c@$t in his failux or commowhore also if you drive an excel it doesn't matter if they're cheap on fuel they're just s@$t cars don't put 17 inch wheels on them and spoilers that could rival the sydney harbour bridge it just makes you look like a twat
towe001 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 they don't let me drive the store car anymore cause of how errmmm careless i was with it :D Listen to the man, he speaks the truth on why most of us categorised as "hoons"
Mason. Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 if you drive an xr6 or s/ss ute your d@$k is obviously huge. Gold
ToasticlesAe82 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 by careless they automatically assumed i was a bad driver cause i was underage, apparently having to have had your green p's in order to drive it i originally drove it during the day when one of my mates the store manager was around cause he knew how decently i drove, it's people like this other twat that works there who wheelspun in front of our franchisee, regional manager and store manager, that make it so hard :(
carbonboy Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 it's people like this other twat that works there who wheelspun in front of our franchisee, regional manager and store manager, that make it so hard :( Now thats just moronic, when I'm in the work van I always make sure I'm out of sight/hearing of the boss before disengaging the TCS on dirt roads  2.4 tonne Vito Rally Van for the win!
ToasticlesAe82 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 (edited) i love my mate's vito it's soooo pimp and yeah he's the biggest f@$k up, cost the store hundreds of dollars just cause he loses money or forgets sh%t when he takes it out to them Edited April 5, 2011 by ToasticlesAe82
