ericcs Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 hi all, i have a 1.6 ae101 auto, and the problem is it shifts into second way too soon after take off. if you flatten it, it will hold, but in traffic it changes so fast, your left with no power to accelerate as the rpm is too low, once again unless you floor it to kick down. could this be some sort of adjustment problem, or is it a computer mapping issue? appreciate any help cheers eric Quote
Sam_Q Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 hi, welcome Now I don't know much about this sort of thing but here is something you can try: depending on what controls the auto in those things have a look for a manual cable coming off the throttle body/carby going to the trans. Adjust that to have more pre-load on the cable to make it more responsive. If in doubt post a picure of your engine bay Quote
ericcs Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Posted February 24, 2011 thanks sam,i'll look at that when i get back to the car in a week. cheers eric Quote
mike100 Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 when was the last time you serviced the trans maybe this will fix. Quote
