rke_011 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Hey I'm just wondering if fitting a ke70 5spd would mean that you would have to modify the tailshaft? if so what are the options for gearbox's in a ke10 with standard tailshaft? cheers Quote
Jordain Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 You can run a ke70/55 5 speed gearbox in a KE10. You do not need to shorten the tailshaft, although you do need to get a ke30 Yoke and swap it onto the KE10 tail shaft. This is what I'm doing at the moment, Just haven't bothered to find a KE30 Yoke. I got this information from Toymods. Regards. Quote
Guest pmp16 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I converted my ke11 from auto to manual and the tail shaft from auto was exact length for 5 speed and Also the yoke was the same it was just matter or changing pedal setup and putting 5 speed in and obviosly clutch .. But there was no changes to tail shaft needed Quote
Jordain Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 I have a 4 Speed Manual box from a KE10 and It doesn't fit. Are you saying an Automatic KE10 Yoke fits into the KE55/70 5 Speed Box? Quote
Guest pmp16 Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Yes I have a ke55 box in ke11 and all I done was swap the 2spees auto gearbox for te 5speed and the tail shaft slotted straight in and bolted straight up to diff .. Nothing to change on tailshaft Quote
Felix Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Got a jap diff? If so get a gearbox yoke from a jap diffed ke3x (4/5 speed doesn't matter), and graft it onto the front of your existing tailshaft with a new uni joint (part No. K5-A517). Quote
rke_011 Posted February 24, 2011 Author Report Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) cheers for the replys.. havent got a motor yet but i figure i may as well go 5 speed straight out instead of having to change it again later. and also how is the easy way of telling what diff is in a ke10? Guest pmp16 Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Jap diff is sealed unit at back of centre housing .. The Aussie diff had bolts around outside of centre housing at the back Quote
Guest pmp16 Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 If u got ke11 I'd say u got Aussie diff unless it's been changed Quote
