Now where is the fun in that. I though running it with no front swaybar, street rubber and waste gate spring pressure would be enough of a handicap.

Blue Thing versus Godfrey around Winton/down Calder Park drag-way, as they sit right now! You game? :P

Youll find the 10/8's heaps better around corners if the valving is anything like mine. If its like my mates AE92 MRP coils then 8/6 combo will be tops! Ill take you for a spin in mine one day to see what the suspension is like now that its all sorted :)

Cmon Luke, aim higher!! You should be tagging along with me yapping on the tails of S15s and Chasers!

I've noticed that different people run different set-ups, no idea what will work for me hence the extra bits. More than happy to go for a spin in yours.

I figure I'll start off small Justin & work my way up, thought I might start with a bright red Civic....wait... :P There's a maroon, late-model, supercharged MX-5 that's wearing custom number plates I wouldn't mind seeing if I can beat first. ;)

Haha nah you know Godfrey is slower than BT in a straight line ATM. Suspension is getting there slowly, I'm half way through sorting the front end issues and my rear swaybar arrived Friday.

I'd think a well sorted "twinky" like Justin's with a mild modded GE(cams and ecu) should be plenty to harass that boosted MX5!! It's quick but those fwd ae chassis are fairly stiff! Webers seca picks up wheels going into his driveway!!! Speaking of which I'm trying to talk myself out of buying the hatch shell and bigport setup up he has. His was so fun to drive with the GE in it!!

Ah yeah I know that maroon MX5, its a very tidy car...

Thats true, everyone likes their setup to be a bit different, I know that I'm still not happy with mine, but its just wheel alignment issues which are easily sorted once I find the parts...

So...I remember saying something along the lines of not playing with Blue Thing anymore. *rolls eyes*

I found the rear twin-cam hubs & disc brake setup (which need a rebuild kit put through them by the looks) in my shed that came with the project shell. With some help from Three Amigos Racing I got my hands on a pair of front hubs, enabling me to run the spare TC struts & King Springs I have for moar low! Add a swaybar & the damn thing might even handle! The guys even sourced me an AE93 radiator for the project build, I approve of this product and/or service. :y:

Patience is not normally a virtue I'm in large supply of, but it is possible to get your hands on one of these without paying (what I think can be sometimes) crazy money for it. It just involves waiting & waiting for about three years. :)

In other news, I stripped down the struts/springs to renew the bumpstops/boots & discovered that what I thought were Twin Cam struts are actually Single Cam items. Right...acquired TC hubs but have no spare TC struts....bugger it, am just going to throw the lowered springs in & forget the brake upgrade.

So yeah, this thing. :zzzz:

Gave myself a bit more room to move underneath.

Got stuck into it, wearing welding goggles for the eye-safety win!

Bits of surface rust on bolt threads etc here & there, treated with rust converter & will get another grind tomorrow. Learned my lesson, working in sections :)

Thanks Azza, good to be back now that I have the time, money & motivation :)

Primed that bare metal yesterday afternoon, spraying while laying down is...umm...challenging.

I do have a rotisserie, unfortunately it's only big enough for your average sized chook. I looked at materials to extend the buggy I have into something that will allow 90 degree rotation, budget says no.

It's not so bad, the worst part so far is that there's a lot of corners/edges to smack your head on. I think I've found most of them. :hammer:

Was about to start grinding underneath on the rear passenger side, when I noticed this.

When removing sound deadener (several years ago!), I'd managed to put a chisel through the metal & had completely forgotten about it. Borrowed the oxygen/acetylene bottle from work & off I went.

Grind back, rust-treat & hit with cold-gal primer. A little metal mend to fill the lumps & you'd never know. ;)
