Skellington Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 Nice build. Seems I am not the only rolla owner that also has a boat. Quote
carbonboy Posted June 27, 2012 Author Report Posted June 27, 2012 blue thing looks good with those shoes man Cheers mate, your blue paint tops them though. :y: I needed new tyres anyway, so while I'm there..... ;) The wheels are courtesy of The_Nobbler, they came with Sudi when I bought her from him. They're from a Mazda of some description, which one I have NFI. All I did was clean them, get new tyres put on & fit them. ;) Car looks good after a clean and with the new shoes! I lol'd once i realised why it was low when you were rolling in... :P Invited the parents along to check out the Toyota antics I keep talking about, my Mother's not a huge car person & she said she enjoyed walking around looking at the cars. No clue what they were other than Toyotas, but had fun nonetheless. My Dad was amazed we got that many cars in the middle of Winter, told him to check out our Summer meets. My mate was a Eurotrash fan, I think Winterfest showed him a few things. I say 'was' because after many years of persisting, I think I've finally managed to turn him to The Land of the Rising Sun...I'm hearing talk of a post-taxtime Corolla purchase. Nice build. Seems I am not the only rolla owner that also has a boat. Thanks man, hate having it on pause but there's more important things to do at the moment. What kind of boat do you have? 'Boat' makes mine sound big, dinghy would be the honest name. :laff: Quote
Skellington Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 I have 2 Hobie 14' catamarans. Mine are quite small too. Here is a link of what I have done to it so far: http://www.thebeachcats.com/forums/viewtopic/topic/13382 Quote
carbonboy Posted July 22, 2012 Author Report Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) I gotta say, I really enjoy the TCCAV Cars, Coffee & Donuts meetups. Not only is it a good chance to grab a hot coffee, free donuts & talk $h1t with fellow enthusiasts, it's also great for picking up parts! :D At the risk of repeating myself, a big thankyou to dpb for supplying me with a new 'air-conditioning condensor'. I've decided to make the AE82 AC system more efficient by driving the compressor off the exhaust system rather than a belt drive, so there'll be nice & chilly air temperatures all-around! :? Wait.....what do you mean air-conditioning doesn't use 2 1/2" pipe? ;) Edited July 23, 2012 by carbonboy Quote
JJT036 Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 I noticed that kit sitting on the back seat of Blue Thing today. Now it's time you start working on Gokai again. :) Josh  Quote
carbonboy Posted July 22, 2012 Author Report Posted July 22, 2012 Now it's time you start working on Gokai again. :) I have, this sure as heck isn't for Blue Thing. :P Yeah, boost bug bit courtesy of being strapped into a mates JZA80. Basic plan is: N/A engine + coilovers + bigger brakes + semi-slicks = have a blast at hillclimbs/trackdays. Add boost = scare expensive cars (& myself). :D Had purchased another secondhand intercooler a while back...long story short it's useless, I got ripped off & it was too large anyway...lessons learned. Quote
Subaru_kid Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 I thought it was a new heating unit you are making... ;) Quote
Skellington Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 <- (is very interested in a good AC system_ How do you make the AC system work off the exhaust? pics? Quote
carbonboy Posted July 23, 2012 Author Report Posted July 23, 2012 With one of these: And one of these: :D **Many apologies for my bad sense of humour, nothing air-conditioning related at all. Intercooler & intake piping for the turbo-engine to go in later down the track. ;) Quote
