Super Jamie Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 noobzone might i suggest that you just take your car to a performance shop and hand them several thousand dollars to do the conversion for you
Clown Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 now theres a n00b question/statement and a half. When was the last of the GZE's used?
ancullen Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 AE101 came with the last of the GZE's or the silvertop 20v (first model with 20v engine). So this was from about 91-95. The 4A-GZE will bolt straight into your car, connecting directly up with your gearbox without too much hassle. If you really wanted you could spend the cash on getting a 6-speed manual transmission from an AE111 20v and using it with the 4A-GZE as it hasn't been done much, if at all, but you'd pay through the nose for parts. Just get an AE101 4A-GZE halfcut and away you go.
ancullen Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 You've got a point there Nick, I didn't think of that. :lmao: That means that the best motor you could put in your car Ramsay, would be the 7A-FE turbo from the AE112R Sportivo Turbo. You might be able to use a 4A-GE 20v Blacktop as I think they were made up until 2000, but I'm not absolutely certain. Or you could get a front cut from a US model ZZE112 Corolla with the non-VVT 1ZZ-FE. You wouldn't have much more power than the 7A-FE, but you could always upgrade to a VVT head later. Plus you'd also be able spend heaps more money later and get 2ZZ-GE pistons with sleeves, and a 2ZZ-GE head and make about 150kW at the flywheel (more if you up the compression, cams, and use a programmable ECU).
Clown Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 so in other words, if you don't love the car to much, sell and buy something else.
Rolln16 Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 He loves the car....don't worry about that....
