Deeken Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Hey guys, atm I have a 16v tvis bigport sitting in my garage and was wondering if yous would be able to list everything I need to get it into a ke70.. Got the full engine, harness, ecu. Engine has no flywheel/clutch, has intake/exhaust. Wondering with the shit like whether I would need an ae71 pedal box, clutch cables, box, tailshaft, diff? Can any of the ke70 running gear run on the 4a and if I got an ae71 would it be any easier? Cheers guys, Sorry if this has been listed before :/ Quote

bAKER Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Hey mate, It's not that simple really... If you have half a house that you're planning on building please list everything you need to finish the other half! What kind of car do you have? Make a full list of parts you have. And then we can make a list for you. If you're not willing to put effort in people on rollaclub aren't either. Quote
Deeken Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) The car would be a ke70 as listed, the engine is a 16v bigport, full engine with harness and ecu as listed, does not have a flywheel/clutch as listed, kinda thought people would assume if that is what I list as having that is most likely what I have. Meaning I don't have anything else for it. Asking the question about putting it into a ke70 you would have to assume it has everything a ke70 would have on it. Cheers, sorry if my post was unclear in any way. EDIT: btw, thanks mr. clown lol (destroyer) Edited February 9, 2011 by Deeken Quote

What is a full engine? is that a loom, air cleaner, radiator, gearbox, fwd or rwd intake mani? exhaust? Is harness the engine mounts? what kind of engine mounts? out of which car? You see my point now? Quote
Deeken Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) Full running engine rwd intake/exhaust.. mounts with a ae71 xmember, its rwd.. otherwise I would mention it.. no box.. just the engine (as posted no clutch or flywheel either). Got 2 harness'.. the one on the engine is supposedly complete but there has been shit cut on it.. the other has been 'played with a bit' i was told. I have 2 ecu's one which was running in the car when the engine was pulled out, other one is supposedly a spare i think. No air cleaner.. or radiator.. just the engine, but do have a reco ke70 radiator sitting around which would be sufficient to get the engine running I would guess. Also piss easy to knock up an air cleaner/clamp one to the throttlebody LOL As I asked in OP, I'm curious as to whether I could use the ke70 pedal box/would like to know whether it would be easier finding an ae71 or just using a ke70.. Also, I will be needing a t50/tailshaft/diff, won't I? don't think I've seen anyone anywhere say that the ae71 tailshafts bolt to a ke70 diff.. Edited February 9, 2011 by Deeken Quote
ke70dave Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 have a google mate. all the info is out there. http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/showthread.php?t=2059 there is some good one. there is quite a long list of stuff for the conversion, but its better if you discover it yourself, then you'll remember it! then if you have questions, head on back. quick run down: efi fuel system t50 gearbox, ae71 crossmember and gearbox member. ae71 tailshaft water system sort out what to do with your radiator (outlets on wrong side for 4a) .... ... . Deeken Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 thanks heaps for that dave, thats really the only info i needed... sorta.. for the t50 i'll need an ae71 tailshaft won't i? the ke70 one doesnt fit, nor does an ae71 auto tail shaft, and i need an ae71 manual diff? Quote
ke70dave Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) yeah i had ae71 tailshaft in that list.. auto and manual diffs are the same, just a different ratio. in fact if you have an auto diff keep it (4.1 ratio as oposed to 3.9) ke70 and ae71 diffs are exactly the same (bar the ratios i think), exact same externals though. ok here you go, the list. I'm should put this in my sig..... 4age engine T50 gearbox loom and ecu clutch and flywheel insert a spigot bearing into your crank (FWD 4ags don't have it. if you have one alreay, replace it. its $6. don't know what it is? google it) rwd intake manifold (genuine or cut and shut FWD one) RWD exhaust manifold (genuine or extractors) cooling system, either genunine RWD or make the FWD work (google it, theres a really good guide somewhere, easy to find) fuel system, please do it properly. in tank lift pump (check the FAQ), with a surge tank (check ae86dc for my guide on undercar surge tank in a ke70) DO NOT just use a single external efi pump. thats the lazy gay way. ae71 gearbox and engine crossmember ae71 engine mounts, both rubber and metal (or ae86) ae71 pedal box to bolt into your car (you will need to drill a few holes for the clutch master), or fabricate something. been done heaps of times. ae71 clutch master cylinder (buy this brand new, 50bucks) ae71 slave cylinder(buy this brand new, 50bucks) clutch solid line (ae71 works, but its just a line, find something at the wreckers and bend it into shape) ae71 clutch solid line (get a braided one made up, with a banjo fitting to clear your extractors, cost me 70bucks) ae71 tailshaft (bolts the T50 to your standard diff) if you want a T series diff, you will need an ae86 front half with a T18 or jap ae86 rear half tailshaft. ke70 radiator can work but you will need really long radaitor pipes to fit it up. i used an ae71 radiator purely because i had one. lots of different options, there is a camry radiator that fits good, massive too so bit of an upgrade. then when you have bolted all that in, tow it down to the exhaust shop, get them to put a PROPER exhaust on (2.25" one muffler 1 resonator) over diff and tucked up to the body nicely. that should be about it. Deeken Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 ah beautiful. going to have this book marked, really don't like the idea of having to fit the pedal box, I have no idea why I dread it but to me it makes me cringe for some reason lol, I'm pretty sure I am going to buy this overrated ass ae71 up in brissy thats still up for sale I HOPE. so it will have the auto diff in it :D Ah well I have more question but I will sort out a car before I annoy more people with questions, very very much appreciated dave, may even make me up a build thread :D Cheers for the help guys.
