abel00 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 what size should i go for. having trouble finding a low profile tyre in a 13. any suggestions. how far can i go with the stretch Quote
Evan G Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 mr keHendo was telling me about a hancook 155/55r13 tyre i think? Quote
KENut Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 You will struggle to find anything low profile in a 13, and if you do find some they'll most likely be expensive and a pretty average tyre in general. If you want some stretch I'd suggest getting some wider rims first, say 13 x 7. You could put 165 on those... don't expect grip though Quote
abel00 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 thanks for the replies. they were quite helpful. cheers Quote
SkidzMgee Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Stretch has a bit more to do with the width of the rim AND tyre/profile ratio, not either one. You'd be looking at stretch on a 165 by about 6J or 7J wide, depending on tyre profile and bead lip. If you're buying tyres tomorrow, and want stretch, I doubt you'll find any production ones that will actually give you that look. Give it some time and some wider/larger rims and you shall have infinite stretch :) Quote

SkidzMgee Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 yeah, I think you're going to struggle with low profile for a 13" rim. worked with tyres for 2 years and I think the lowest I ever saw on a 13, was a 55 tyre profile. Which still isnt small... mind you, with 13" rims, arent you risking losing your wheel and tyre in the void of your guards? :P What car is this for? Quote

I'm going for a smaller rim, lower ride look. its only my daily, not my build. i just couldn find any other rims. a 14 with big offset woulda been perfect but rare in that stud pattern. Quote
19914afc Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 You will find that if you call around some wheel manufactures can make wheels in any stud pattern, all of AJPS's wheels are available in 4x110 http://www.ajps.com.au/parts/performance_wheels.asp Quote
mungi mods Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 convert to 4 x 114.3 its easy and cheap opens up options when looking for rims etc my old ke20 ran 14 x 7 with 195/45/14 s use ke70 front hub with ke20 rotor bolted on , everything fits overrated = front sorted use ke35 axlesfrom a jap diff, cut 5mm off the end of each = rear sorted and as a bonus you get bigger rear drum brakes Quote
SkidzMgee Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 4x100? Rare? Civics, Liberty's (some are 5 stud) Some newer Corolla's? Go to a Bob Jane, ROTA, or above mentioned AJPS, Performance Wheels, and they can set you up with some width, dish, camels or even a stripper if you like. 4X100 aint too hard to get rims for ;) Quote
mungi mods Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 ke20 is 4 x 110.............. Quote
SkidzMgee Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 I retract my previous statement, and apologize for reading threads so early in the morning :bash: In which case, said conversion would be advisable for good rims Quote
