ae824ate Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Should be the same as any other engine mate. I rebuilt my ex's N13 18l? years ago, too long to remember. Get #1 at TDC compression, adjust your dizzy, might be a tooth out, try again, and adjust your dizzy. Is it the timing gear or the dizzy thats out? Have you got a timing light? Quote

Corey_wwv Posted January 19, 2011 Author Report Posted January 19, 2011 the engine no. of the reg sticker is 18LE25035953 Quote
TRD ke70 Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) The engine code is on the block in big letters, there is actually 4 different engines for that model. But the timing belts look to be the same across the models, just a difference in if it has a manual or auto tensioner. Anyhow here are the timing belt diagrams, you have the engine in front of you so you should be able to work out what you have. Bamboo Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Simple. I've had some practice at this. Put a paper clip into the A & B terminal to bridge it in the diagnostic plug. From memory, one wire is black & the other white. (collingwood). This put the computer into self diagnostic mode. Thermos come on and the ECM light on the dash flashes. You can also check the engine fault codes. Now set timing as per normal 10 deg BTDC. I've had a couple of these. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/44080-the-blood-blister/page__p__459891__hl__pulsar__fromsearch__1#entry459891 Quote
TRD ke70 Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Think he's asking for CAM timing info dude!! Quote
Bamboo Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Thanks TRD Kinda hard to tell what he needs. Ok, cam gear mark should be at the top, aligned with the mark (funnily enough) For the crank, dummy fit the pulley and align the timing mark with the pointer, at 2 o'clock. Adjust with the water pump. Correct tension is when the belt can be turned 90 degrees, halfway between the camshaft and water pump. Bamboo Quote

Bamboo Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 thanks heaps for your help. Forgot to add, If the water pump seal isn't new or near new, when you adjust it, it will bloody leak. Usually replace the pump when doing a belt. Also, a camira pump won't fit, as the pump nose is too long. Good luck. Quote
