nomis Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Hey guys, I'm looking at replacing my front and rear rubbers for my KE10. I really would like to have a professional do it so would anyone be able to recommend any people who could do the job? I've heard of some companies who come out to you in a van who specialise with classic cars, those would be my first option. Would it be better to order my own rubbers from ebay for the ke10? or just use whatever they supply "custom or premade" Windows are all still perfect, all that needs to be done is for the windows to be taken out then rubbers replaced and reinstalled with the window. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Simon. P.S location preferably in Sydney. Quote
KENut Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Sure you don't want to give it a crack? (lol no pun intended) All you gotta do is use some good solid boots, apply even pressure slowly and the window will come out. Then to put it back in you need some very strong cord about 4m, with some little blocks of wood for handles. Wrap the cord in the gap of the rubber after installing it on the glass, place glass in the hole. Use the cord to pull the rubber edge in over the steel edge. Start on a long edge and work evenly around. Done Quote
nomis Posted January 17, 2011 Author Report Posted January 17, 2011 Sounds alright but still probably want a professional to do it.. :D or someone who has some experience.. Quote
nomis Posted January 18, 2011 Author Report Posted January 18, 2011 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190444007258 <-- has anyone bought these for the KE10? Do they support the chrome stripes which sit ontop of the rubber. Quote
silverra23 Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Its been covered lots on here, but the rubbers for early Corollas that come out of Thailand are rubbish and don't last long. You will pay more, but buy them from Scotts - http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/TOYOTA%20COROLLA%201966-70%20KE10-11-15-16-17-18.htm or Rare Spares. Then any good windscreen fitter should be able to do the job. Quote
