TRD ke70 Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 is it progressive or do both throttle flaps open at the same time. if the later i'd say it's off a V6 cortina 2.3L or V6 capri 3.0L. Quote
Xany Posted June 11, 2005 Author Report Posted June 11, 2005 i'm pretty sure it was progressive. one primary opened then the secondary opened about 3/4 throttle Quote
TRD ke70 Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 then i would say it's an old 2L cortina carb. Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 didnt the gotina use a 32dgav? or was that the 3ltr capri? i forget, but its definitly not a capri v6 one, and it doest look like a cortina one to me, although I'm very proud to say i havnt looked under the bonnet of a cortina in many years :) Quote
TRD ke70 Posted June 12, 2005 Report Posted June 12, 2005 it was the big green thing on the side that made me think it was a cortina, it's been years since i worked on them and are happy to say i'll NEVER work on another again. Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 surely theres some markings... every weber iv seen has had choke sizes on it and the model on the bottom flange Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 v6 capri used a holley 5200, which is a weber 32/36 dfv made under license for motorcraft. escort used a 32/36 dgv. this carb is neither of them Quote
kangaroosa Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 i no longer have this carby on my engine....it was just a little too big....considering it came off a XD falcon with a 4.1L straight 6. btw. it's a 34 ADM i now have a 32 adfa on there. I thought Xany already told us what it came off - Or was it on something else before the Falcon. (just trying to get up to speed on why everyones still guessing what car it came off). Quote
Xany Posted June 13, 2005 Author Report Posted June 13, 2005 i did tell you guys.... but noone seemed to read that bit... :) yes it came off a 4.1L Falcon Engine. Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 oh yeah.... jamie no idea what your capris used (but I'm sure they were the same as ours) but ours and the english ones used the 38dgas. all the essex v6s used dgas carbs. the american ones used a holly5200/weber but they were a totally different engine than ours. they used versions of the colonge v6. the escorts (mk1) used 32 dgvs, 32dgav, 28/30dgv and 32df guess who found his weber manual :) :P Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 i don't know what six capris used here, but i learnt everything i know about them from larry webb from the capri club of chicago, so that would explain that :) Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 ah yep it would :(( the european capris used the essex v6 untill the mk3 (german versions used the cologne from the begining) the essex wasnt even close to meeting the USA emissions laws. the only english capri to use the colonge v6 (untill the mk3) was the rs2600 whicj was fuel injected and so sexy i want have sex with it capris are cool :blinks: Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 capris are definitely cool, fook is in love with capri peranas :(( i find it amusing they released a 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder, all in the same body, all with 4 bolt wheel hubs (and 4x114.3 at that) it's like what the LJ torana should have been Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 mmm perana mmmmm all good if you live in south africa.... personally a broadspeed bullit would be my pick, if i couldnt have a colonge capri (3400cc quad cam v6 :(( ) Quote
