Doesnt look like they even used Jiff... :hmm:

I'd be arguing...you paid for a service & didnt receive it.

Would probably end up taking business elsewhere too!

i would of used like 500grams of caustic soda and really warm water. gotta use it a metal or plastic tub as it will eat thru the foam and your toes in about 2 mins :blinks:

edit - caustic soda will also remove the rust! just remove all the bearings/anything alloy beforehand

edit agian - oven cleaner also has caustic soda in it so just buy some of that, spray and leave for a hour then rise off

Note to the world , When taking a A/C bracket off a 4k just double check its not a 3k bracket because they can't be used to mount a S/C :bash:

Edit:I'll give that a go Evan

So been looking around and theres conflicting info all around the net about what rods to use with what lifters! :bash:

I'm using a Standard 4k head with adutable gear on a 5k Block

I will be installing standard 5k solid lifters, so do I need to get A14 pushrods or are the std 4k pushrods alright?

And I've also read they 2 different types of 4k-c Heads

How do I spot which mine is? And whats the difference?

Cheers

the two Ive seen, if you get what I mean.

4kheads.jpg

One has more combustion area in the piston, one more in the head.

I'm putting a 4k-u head on my flat top piston 5k... :blinks:

There are different acids that guys use, some neutralise rust, others don't. Some strip paint and grease extremely well, but the block rusts straight away. Oxalic acid is what makes rhubarb bitter and is why you don't eat rhubarb leaves.

Maybe someone would like to start a thread on this and see what we can all hammer out.

I'm running inch & 1/4 SUs, the HS2s, they're great for NA work, but for forced induction I would go for a single 2" myself.

Its easy to make your own needles so they are lean or rich in any rev range, and you will certainly need the FMD setup I run, or something that tells you mixture by reading exhaust O2.

Altezza - I've read the build of yours for your daughter about a 100 times! :laff: Definitely going to have a FMD setup its been a must from the first day I thought this build out.

I'm selling my Dual inch 1/4 Hs2 on a lynx manifold like Altezza's if anyone's interested .
