I've read a locked dizzy's will not like start ups and idle at all, but will perform best at higher Rpm.

This is a budget engine build with a set budget so just trying to keep things simple.

Not as bad as everyone makes em out to be. It just takes a couple of tries to fire it up. Once it fires it's starts perfect. I did have fuel only efi so not sure how a carby would go.

Oohh what's the dipstick look like? Any water on that? And has it been cold in the mornings in Perth? Might just be a little bit of condensation.

Check radiator for bubbles etc.

if you wana lower your compression to suit the supercharger, 2 ways u can do it decompression plate and 2 head gaskets, cheap way to do it, the other way is dished pistons, don't plane the head, or run flat top pistons with the chambers in the head dremeld out, thats a far beter way to do it, its what i did with the head on my mini when i turbo'd it, the other thing is use a single 2inch su, hif44, you can get needles from mini spares in the uk or aus that they have that suit the carbs it might be easyer to start with 1 then can make your own fro there cos it will neva be right ether to lean or to rich, def beter have it a lil to rich.

locking your dizzy isnt that bad u just have to retard you timing slightly, ive owned alot of old skol minis and the same shit has been done with them over and over again, and just finished a 10g rebuild of a 1034cc turbo engine and done all the things you have done. cheers hope some of this info helps

Or you could get a 5k D-Shaped Piston where 22cc of the combustion happens, then get a 4k Head that has most of its combustion chamber in its head around 14cc which lowers your static CR to around 6.8 depending on deck head, gaskets, etc. That equals a k engine begging to run 8 psi of boost through it, which gives you A CR of around 10.5 great for day to day living .

Anyone agree the front needs to come down just a tad?

Just got in from changing a Intake/Exhaust Gasket 12:23am Commitment? :laff:

Learnt a lot. Like loosening the U bracket off the exhaust/Gearbox to get leverage , rather then taken the exhaust mani off the exhaust with them 3 bolts!

I had 2 Huge leaks on my outer Exhaust Ports :bash:
