xris Posted January 16, 2011 Author Report Posted January 16, 2011 wilson carberetters in airport west he is an old guy and seems to know his shit about these things well worth a try ive used him on all my carbys for my show / modified cars my 2 cents anyway good luck Woz Yeh mate thats who I'm looking at taking it too, thanks for that(just around the corner from my work). Bit of an update. I put an electric fuel pump(inline 1-4psi for carbies) and it runs alot better. Still coughs some times. so still needs to be tuned. but i can nail it around a corner and it doesnt want to die (as much lol) now. Quote
xris Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 Ended up ditching the stock carby and got myself a 32.36 i think. with a redline adaptor plate. modded up a bracket for the accelerator cable. needs tuning as it doesnt want to idle below 1200~rpm. think i'll take it to wilson carbies once its back on the road for a tune. altezzaclub Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 It probably needs the idle circuit cleaning out, the same as your stock carb did. If they sit around and dry out the tiny chambers and drillings get blocked with resin and dirt, and if it gets free it often ends up blocking the jet. The idle jet runs the car up to about 2000rpm when it finally hands over to the main jet, so idle jet problems make it lean for all that initial acceleration. Let us know what jets you end up using in the Weber, there's a lot of guys got them on here. Quote

(needs 40/45) if you want me to have a play around with it pm me Quote
xris Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 Carbies been rebuilt so its not dirty at all (very clean). just working out what carby it is (32/32,32/36 etc). Thanks for the offer Evan. i'll see how i go if i run into trouble i'll pm you. Quote
xris Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 Anyone able to identify what weber carby this is? is it a 32/36? Quote
Evan G Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Yea looks 32/36 where you located mate? Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Must be numbers on it! or measure the diameter of the throats at the bottom? Even the numbers on the chokes down in the throats would tell you... Quote

xris Posted July 10, 2011 Author Report Posted July 10, 2011 pulled the jets out on the webber air correction 120 - 110 main jets 135 - 100 From what ive read thats too small. So ive ordered some new jets main jets 140 - 145 air correction 170 - 160 Quote
Evan G Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 air corrections are still too small. go 170/190 and mains jets look a little too rich? it will run but some fine tuning will be needed what idles you running btw? Quote
xris Posted July 10, 2011 Author Report Posted July 10, 2011 (edited) not sure on idler. i'll have to pull it out and have a look(forgot to write that one down). I'll chuck the new ones in when i get it and go from there.(i'll check today on what the idler and post it up). Just checked idle jets are 45/50 Edited July 10, 2011 by xris Quote
xris Posted July 13, 2011 Author Report Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) ok . so the cars booked in for next tuesday to go to Wilson Carbies. Just so i can get the correct gear in before then a good base to start with would be? Main Jets pri sec 135 140 <- ive got 100, 135, 140, 145 to play with) Air correctors pri sec 170 190 <- ive got 170, 160, 135, 100) Idle pri sec 45 50 <- this looks good enough from what ive read. Is there any other shops in the west/north that sell jets (other than Thornbury carbies or is that as close as i can get)(don't want to pay another $8 in shipping for a $7 jet from weber) Wilson didnt know if they had them in stock... As i need to buy another air corrector (190) for my setup i think.. Evan I'm looking at you lol... Edited July 13, 2011 by xris Quote
