cinky Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 thought id throw this up here. The missus named it "keep rollin" (keeping with the theme of the car KPR01N) bought it new years for 2 g cash. dragged it home that afternoon. Its a buccaneer jet boat powered by a Windsor 302 currently fitted with single autolite carby (searching for twin 350 holleys) running twin impellers. motor is almost newly rebuilt with only 25 hours on it. paitn was shagged and a few small cracks were appearing so that has been fixed rubbed back and primed ready for paint so this is where it is at so far Quote

cinky Posted January 11, 2011 Author Report Posted January 11, 2011 my dad lives there aswell but going by the news you"d be better with a white water raft and maybe one that is suitable for brown water aswell Quote
cinky Posted January 28, 2011 Author Report Posted January 28, 2011 well this didnt last long just swapped it for a lj torana (thread to come) Quote
cinky Posted February 1, 2011 Author Report Posted February 1, 2011 well the sale for the torana fell thru as the guy failed to advertise it correctly, he stated 90% complete more like 90% stripped any who more boat pics Quote
ijg033 Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) You have a 302 Cleveland (Other name Boat Anchor) there not a Windsor , Totally different engines & very visibly different , 302 Clevelands are the Most useless Ford V8 engine as they are Gutless , Heavy , The Windsor is Lighter & Revs harder . You WILL NOT find a Twin 2 barrel manifold as there is No Such Thing , Single 4 barrel , Twin 4's or even Triple 2 barrels , Your engine looks Very Stock so wouldn't expect a "Jet Boat" out of your combo , Maybe strip the engine , throw a 393 Stroker kit into it with Alloy heads , High rise intake & 850cfm DP carby then it might go as you'll have a easy 450-500HP compared to the 302C 160-200 hp currently pending out what the engines out of , I can tell you what the engines out of if you tell me the engine number of the LHF of the block , Cheers Dave Edited February 1, 2011 by ijg033 Quote
cinky Posted February 1, 2011 Author Report Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) yeah was thinking of stroker and a high rise only problem i may have is that being a ski boat i need low down pulling power and on a few things ive read these mods help high at high rpm not low rpm dc7046 Edited February 1, 2011 by cinky Quote
ijg033 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 A 302 Cleveland wouldn't pull a skin off a rice custard so if low down power is what your after you have the Wrong Engine set up , For Low down Grunt I would Stroke it 383 or 393 , Fit a Mild Hydro Cam (2000-6000 rpm range) with a Dual Plane intake , throw a 1 in Carb spacer & 750cfm Vac Sec , This will produce heaps of Torque (ft lb's) probably very close to HP output , Is it running a V drive or through a Tranny Quote
cinky Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 at this stage stroking it is outta the budget, however when or if i get it wet il test it to the maxx and if it needs some power mods then i'll know who to ask. is this advice coming previous experience or from a v8 hater? Quote
ijg033 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 No I actually Restore Falcons (I own 8 ranging from XTGT to XB ute) i'm a mechanic & have hot clevo's (Strokers & worked 4v's)& was using my 302 windsor xw fairmont as a daily until recently now using my 351 xy until I rego my KE38 corolla wagon probably next week to take over these duties , A 383 Kit will cost around $1300 for a cheap kit & suitable for mild applications Quote
SkidzMgee Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 I love boats, can't wait to see the progress with the paint and interior. Is the hull all up to spec and water proofed? Had to re glass a hull (not sure if thats what the name to fix it is) one time and being inside the hull was such a drag on a 35 degree day, and no shed :( Quote
cinky Posted February 3, 2011 Author Report Posted February 3, 2011 laid down color yesterday, these are the seats to go in it once its done Quote
