Well, on the Bad Side of things.....

 

I after i got the car back, i put all new cooling system through it. As i was changing the thermostat housing, i found out that i had a stripped thread. So off to the wreckers to get get a new thermostat base.

 

After returning home with the base, a lot of screwing round (heater hose pipes on other side ) ( i think it is a 5k thermostat base ) i finally got it on, and to my surprise, (murphys law ) i had another stripped thread into the head.....! YAY....... =)

don't those things suck?! and they don't make them aftermarket either, so your only option is an often equally as crap one from a dead motor or the wreckers. i have like two spares and i'm holding onto them nice and tight

hey mate I'm currently doing a 5k conversion into my ke30 and was wondering on what parts u used from the 4k and also what kind of inlet manifold that is? the one i have atm looks a bit different and has a port that connects to the stock exhaust manifold...i have a set of 4-1 extractors and was wondering what to do with the inlet manifold

The said car is still for sale to my knowledge.

i'll just post an answer in here and one of the mods can split the topic....

 

The inlet manifold you have can be "hogged" out to create more air flow to the ports..however it is preferred to install some twin sidedraft 40mm webers or Su's for better fuel atomisation = more POWER!

 

you can just about swap anything from a 4K to a 5K except of the rods and pistons....
