SLO-030 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I know my KE25 and probably all KE2x series have a removable upper radiator support. So do early KE3x series. After that (KE55 and maybe #E7#) all 1 non removable piece. Quote
Reginald T Justice Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Takes honestly half hour at most. I pull it out with the box on. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 My 20 had a removable radiator support but I got half way through lifting it out and CBF removing so up and over it went. Seriously K motors are a piece of piss to remove - hardly threadworthy :blinks: Quote
love ke70 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 ive always done it with the box, get everything undone, lift it with an engine crane, have a helper to push and wiggle and tilt the motor box, remember to remove the bonnet, and you will get it pretty easy :) Quote

ke70dave Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 not sure why you guys removing the bonnet for.. just make sure the end of your crane is close to the engine, don't have 1m of chain between chain and engine. and yeah its like a 30min job to remove a 4k engine from a ke70. gbox xmember/engine xmember, few fuel lines, exhaust, few wires....out it comes. CodyTravers Posted January 9, 2011 Author Report Posted January 9, 2011 It's pretty much all disconnected now, just have to disconnect the tailshaft, crossmembers and about 3 wires. Quote
bAKER Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 bonnet off for putting stuff back in  Quote
CRO747 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 i took mine out on friday un did the box dropped it out then used a street sign post and chain and a mate on one end me on other and lifted it out easiest engine ive ever pulled out compared to five litres any way Quote
Felix Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Roll it on its' side, undo the tailshaft, gear lever, and enginemounts, cut the fuel lines and shit and kick it out. :laff: Done it before with a ke20 and a few mates... took us about 15 minutes to get the engine and box out. Quote
CodyTravers Posted January 16, 2011 Author Report Posted January 16, 2011 But as people have said block the end of the gearbox or you will have oil everywhere I just put a plastic bag tape it { Plumbers tape } then put a neoprene stubbie holder over it and tape that. Cheers Woz Very handy tip! Cheers. Took my 4K out today. With the gearbox attatched. It was so easy. :D Pictures here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/47249-1984-ke70-complete-makeover/ Quote
