Tiger Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 The history with this relationship is the boyfriend is one of my old high school mates. We reunited at a Car Audio Australia meet and from there, you couldn't seperate us.... until my sister saw him! hahaha Anyways... 4 months later and they are as happy as day one... I'n that time, he has bought her the following: 2 x Tigger Porcelain dolls (Winnie the Pooh) : Value is $500 (This was before day 1, so they weren't going out.) He went and bought her 3 x car stereo amplifiers and a 15" Image Dynamics Subwoofer for a car she is yet to buy! Value of this setup up so far? (heavily discounted) $1220! And this... A Silver Bullet Titanium Lightning Plus hair straightener valued at $300! It's a professional item we are talking here! Can I just say that my sister should get the plates [sPOILT] for her car!!! hahahaha So guys, what's the best thing you got for your girls... (and lets try and keep this one clean, hey? |blink| ) Quote
Tiger Posted October 2, 2005 Author Report Posted October 2, 2005 Sorry... there is more! In this time, she has also received a friendship ring (value $200), 2 more statues (not expensive) so the bill is over $2000! And the best part...I was wrong about the 4 month part... it's 3 MONTHS!!! I know a relationship isn't based on material possessions, but if a partner is able to shower their partners in such a way and say it is only "the tip of the iceberg", then you gotta hand it to em, they are doing alright, hey? In between this time, he has bought her flowers on numerous occasions and drives her into work everyday and as he works about 40 minutes away from home, her work is about 5 minutes past were he is, so he has to come back down to go to work and then do the same to pick her up after work, which he has to wait 30 minutes or more in the car until she finishes.... I'll give him one thing... he absolutely worships the floor she walks on! Then again, she does too... (not the floor she walks on, she ain't THAT up herself! hahaha) She loves him to death! Quote
Teddy Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Well.. Put it this way. I Could be $60 better off, but no.. ! Quote
MissSydneyCruising Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 the best thing ive ever gotten was my ring from james. I knew he didnt have much money and i didnt expect a thing, then I walked into the kitchen at my 21st party a few weeks back, and he got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me, and how he wished the ring were bigger, but he wanted me to know that he wants to make me his wife someday because of how special I am, and when he does that he will give me everything ive ever needed. i wub him soooo much. he already takes care of me - not in material ways. if I'm thirsty at midnight he'll get up and get me some water, or if I'm craving pizza he'll bring some around without even mentioning a word. some of the best gifts are not material, but it is nice when they are. Tiger Posted October 2, 2005 Author Report Posted October 2, 2005 Nick... was there some controversial material removed from here a minute ago? hahahah Nah.... It's good that guys take out the time to shower their girls occasionally. Just don't make it too much of a habit.. because it then is expected more frequently and the second you stop??? WW4! Quote
Tiger Posted October 2, 2005 Author Report Posted October 2, 2005 This is the also the same if the tables were reversed too. Quote
Tiger Posted October 2, 2005 Author Report Posted October 2, 2005 Too funny! Well, I'll agree with Simon though... it was a very thoughtful gesture for your woman  hehehe Quote
irokin Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 I'm a cheap bastard....thats probably why I'm single  Quote
Tiger Posted October 2, 2005 Author Report Posted October 2, 2005 I splurge too early.. so that's why I BECOME single! You can't win with females most the time. If you don't buy them ANYTHING, you'll be the first to hear about it. And then when you spoil them, the second you don't get them something, they think you're cheating or doing something that has made you look elsewhere and lost interest in them! Or if you buy them too much from the start, they look at you as a "walkover" because they just have to say "Thank you babe, I appreciate it "and that keeps you happy! HOWEVER, if you do this correctly, not too much, keep it as surprises. Make it a random thing, very unexpected... then that's where the fun is... and that's the way you get good results.. I'm only assuming this anyways... I'm waiting for Bec to gun me down on this thread ANY second! (hides) Quote

(hides again) On a serious note, at least he did think of you.. I know some girls that don't even GET flowers. I learned from my first ex, NEVER forget to occasionally buy you girls flowers. Not every day, but once here, once there... it DOES make the difference! Old school romance.. can't beat it :P Quote
