i don't mind them. most nissan engine are a masterpiece but f@$kING WORKING ON THEM ON A OVERCROWED ENGINE BAY GIVES ME THE SHITS!

on vg30 ive helped changed dumps on a TT (WHAT A c**t! took 2 days on a hoist!). helped remove a intake manifold (WAC^^) watched my mate take one week to change his extractors. one week to do a clutch. like 3 months to polish his plenum and water pipes.

sr20 are nice to work on. tons of room!

you gonna put forged rods in it? LOL!?!? spend $600 on new forged rods when the old ones were forged from factory. great noob mistakes

I remember hearing a story years ago about a Nissan dealer quoting like $7000 to do a job on a 300zx due to needing to remove the motor, heads etc.

I also recently met a gentleman who 'collects' 300zx's. I think he is delusional. He was also a tosser :lolcry:

Standard or aftermarket dumps? try oversize aftermarkets...

2 days is funny, that is enough time to do an engine swap and have time left over.

A lot of dealers and mechanics don't like to work on 300's and when they do they normally charge through the roof, some of the prices our customers tell us are appalling.

The 300 is also very underestimated, if you have ever seen under the bonnet of one and how much airflow the engine gets then you'd be surprised and for a 20 year old car they are very advanced.

You think that's bad... my son wants to get a Porsche 924 or 944.... the motor only comes out the bottom! ...for anything apparently!

Some poor misguided souls also like to do this with 300zx's as they don't know how to get them out of the top.

Some more pics for you Evan, didn't finish it as I found that the cam had been chewed out by the head so I had to swap the head over and I had to replace the intake valves in the other head.

Just a standard build.

Nah I did that one a while back now, this is the engine out of the 570zx that is going into an N/A.

Lol! I can't believe how it gets bigger and bigger in each photo.. how do you ever fit it into an engine bay!

Ha, my very 1st look at a block had me laughing, they have this tiny piss ant block compared to the rest of the engine, oh they fit.

Just for a reference, this is a 350 chev in the car that the engine came out of, you can see daylight.

Went to work this morning (didn't know it was a public holiday until my cousin came in 45mins later) and was expecting to see that my cousin had come in over the weekend and finished it but thankfully he didn't touch it, engine is now done and now I just have to convert the car to run the turbo components.

wanna do a vg30dett corolla conversion?

Have enough engines there but there are lighter engines out there that offer the same amount of power delivery.
