Trev Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 One of my hobbies is to drive around taking pictures of floodways during the rainy season, just wondering if anyone else on here shares the same hobby as I am looking to setup a website/forum to share your pics and stories so that the media will have access to the pics and so on, just not sure if I should go ahead or not. Istartfires Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) Just do it :) We don't really get floods here in sa but sounds like a good idea. Edited December 29, 2010 by Istartfires Quote
Trev Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 Here are a few of the pics from this month: (this is the entrance to the new years camp I was hoping to get, well under water now) (my backyard) (river now level with the roadway but was only just touching the gutter 5 mins before, came up quick, ended up around 1.3m where I was sitting) (normally can't see much water here) (river is actually 1 - 2km away, map added) Location On Map Also a video of the October floods we had, have not uploaded the latest vids as yet. Driving back through flood waters at Walloon, I waited for another car to go through before I did so I could see how deep it was. You will hear a slight miss from the car exiting the water as the dizzy got a little bit wet. Quote
PHATKE20S Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Keep the pic's rolling in mate I have always been fascinated by floods (amazing how much water to make these inland seas) Quote

Trev Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 You should move up here... I just have to look out the window :P Where is the fun in that, then I can't say it is flooding, it would be storm water :P Quote
Twinky Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 During the storms in Adelaide I was coming home from work and was about to cross the creek just down the road from my house and came across this. The water level was actually up to the roof before I got there. As I was walking by I heard the driver of the car (obviously a woman) say "when I entered the stream it didn't look that deap" lol......... This is the highest water level I have ever seen here in 9 years. The force of the water even bent the railings. But the most horrific thing to greet me as I got home was this. She is one of those "energetic" greeters Quote
Des Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Josephville rd on the other side of Beaudesert floods, Goes about 5 - 6 meters under water and the road usually floats away. The road that goes behind bunnings at oxley goes under water pretty easy, Which means no access to maccas, super cheap or harvey norman. Quote
