rb1994 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 hi i am currently looking for an ae71 sedan to build as a slider, i have found a wagon for the right price but was wondering if it is the same as a sedan apart from the shell, so does it have the same 4ac? t50? driveshaft? diff mountings? let me know please cheers Quote
rb1994 Posted December 28, 2010 Author Report Posted December 28, 2010 isthat so hmmm wrecks that plan then haha cheers Quote
Sam_Q Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 you can slide leafs, just use anti-tramp rods and a pan-hard rod. Although putting a panhard in isn't that easy Quote
rb1994 Posted December 28, 2010 Author Report Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) mmm but its just going to be a learn to slider then move onto something bigger/powerful so the easier/quicker the better might just stick with getting a sedan then, Edited December 28, 2010 by rb1994 Quote
rb1994 Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 a wagon has the 4ac and t50 though? so it would have same cross members? Quote
Trev Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 4ac? t50? driveshaft? diff mountings? a wagon has the 4ac and t50 though? so it would have same cross members? 4ac? - yes t50? - yes driveshaft? - different diff mountings? - different Quote
Sam_Q Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 same engine/clutch/trans, both crossmembers but not the rear half of the tailshaft and diff Quote
Sloth Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 driveshaft? - different What's different about them? Is it just that the wagon shaft is one piece while the sedan is two? I ask because we are putting the sivertop, T50 and rear suspension from my old 86 into a KE70. We heard that to do that we would need the AE71 tailshaft to go from T50 to S series diff, but could keep the KE70 shaft if we were using the KE70 rear end. I've found someone locally with a one piece AE71 tailshaft from a wagan and was just wondering whether it would fit. Quote
KENut Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 AE71 sedan for T50 to borgy And going by what Trev and Sam say AE71 wagon for T50 to S?? But presumably you can mix and match with both the 86 and 70 tailshafts depending which way you want to go. You wont be able to use the KE70 front half. Quote

Grand Master of Awesome Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 wagon tailshafts are longer than sedan ones anyway Quote
