purple_ke55 Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 hey guys this is the conversion so far i need some help/suggestions for -engine mounts -how to get rims considering every shop tells me i can't get some due to offset and older style stud pattern.. -also do the 20v and the 16v have the same exahaust mainfold bolt pattern, because i have found a rwd exhaust manifold for a 20v and don't want to buy it without knowing first..?? any help would be good :) Quote
Sam_Q Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 from my memory you have a 4 x 114 stud pattern and new wheels are available if you know where to look- one brand is sportmax. A 20V exhaust flange has the outer 2 holes further outwards, it's easy to redrill a 20v flange to make it 16V compatiable. So what pipes are they? Quote
KeelzaMate Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 as for engine mounts, cut and shortened ae86/71 mounts should work fine or custom brackets with ae86/71 rubbers. 16v and 20v have different exhaust flanges. Quote

Sam_Q Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) I don't think ae71/86 rubber mounts work. I tried it and I found with the bottom of the sump level with the crossmember there is not enough room to put the oil filter on. Edited December 21, 2010 by Sam_Q Quote

My 4age ke55 engine mounts using ae86/71 rubber mounts, quickly bolted on my spare motor. Edited December 22, 2010 by KeelzaMate Quote
Sam_Q Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 do you have a pic of it in the car with a view from underneith? Quote
KeelzaMate Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 do you have a pic of it in the car with a view from underneith? Nah I don't, but when I get a chance I'll bolt a ke55 crossmember to it on the stand and take a pic. Quote
purple_ke55 Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) hey guys, so iv made some progress finally.. so far i have achieved -made engine mounts and mounted engine in the car -went to measure the gearbox mount and turned out it bolt straight up to the t50 which i wasnt expecting -bought a yoke to fit g/box and that also fit right in I'm yet to install that though. also when i tried to put the manifold on which was cut and shut it didnt fit in due to hitting the master cylinder and i havent heard of that before so i had to cut the manifold to shorten it which i didnt want to do because i believe you loose power if not done right but it had to be done..also i can't use the tvis because that just adds more distance to clear with it.. and i have found out the exhaust manifold i bought hits the idler arm so not too happy about that so i moght have to pay some one to fix that problem.. also i have got all my fuel system components ready to go in the boot just have to get around to that ill post some pictures when thats done..here are some pics so far though hope yous like it :) Edited April 11, 2011 by purple_ke55 Quote
