Rolla__Boy Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 What is with the massive influx of Nissan engine questions in here? Quote
love ke70 Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 because theyre cheap and already rwd Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 There are bellhousings available to bolt up supra and celica boxes to nissan motors, so you don't have to go and get one made. I can't remember who makes them though????? I think the changing gears in the backseat thing mostly applys to the ke2x models. Cos my stick is in the perfect spot. The toyota boxes are sooo much better though! Quote
Biggo Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 the wang... :) No apparently every dellow housing ive heard of has never lined up properly and then youve got your throwout bearing/fork to match! Quote
Dave71 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 i know it was a coupla pages back but i COMPLETELY agree with mulblezzzz every ca18 i know of has spun bearings or blown headgaskets ca18 FTL  :abuse: people are like bang for buck, they are cheap, thats because they are junk unless they have been built seriously they are shit better in design than the sr and they seem to rev better f@$k my 4ac turbo held together better than most ca's 4agze ftw! Quote
skiddz Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 (edited) hey guys, dellow got back to me, and no dellow don't do ca18 to anything other than standard (s13/rb20), but the nice folks sent me a catalogue, a sticker and a nice hand written note AJPS: seriously they are shit is this a valid statement? if so how are ca18s seriously shit??, it is not unknown for ca18s to spin bearings, but how does rebuilding an engine solve this? spinning bearings is an oil flow issue. A BHG is far from common in these engines(more of a poo motor problem ), i have known of ALOT of ca18's which haven't spun a bearing, and alot more that havent blown head gaskets. Using some generalisations, a freind of mine has a 4ac in a hatchi, he blew a hg, does this make his engine crap? according to you yes, he is the only guy i know with a 4ac, therefore it is crap doesnt make sense does it Edited July 8, 2006 by skiddz Quote
Biggo Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 yes it makes sense. CA's are pure shit. End of argument  Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 The spinning of bottomend bearings is usually due to detonation, which says nothing about the ca18, except there are more tossas out there who own ca18s that don't get them tuned, or overboost them. Quote
ca18rolla Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Agree with above post any motor is shit with a bad tune or as i posted before half the ca's that everyone refers to are up to 15 years old and have had ten or so pound shoved up there arse for ages. Or may just be a genarally worn motor. Ca's are almost identicle to a Rb in design. Both are i Top motor if you ask me. Like most motors- A fresh Ca thats tuned right, Treated with some respect. Driven to match the build of the motor. They will keep going and going. Seen many a sr, rb, k series motors, v8's etc.. with spun bearings and blown heradgasket are they all shit too???? Crap arguement matey! Quote
skiddz Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 (edited) thank you!! somone who doesnt hang shit on a motor just cos they think its crap and have no real proof to back it up *edit* bloody spelling Edited July 10, 2006 by skiddz Quote
rb30 boy Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 ive always found dellow to be good. i have never heard of bearings spinning from anything other than oil starvation Quote
Rollin-Rolla Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 i mean sure, the 3SGTE totally shits all over the SR20DET, but it's also like double the price for a decent engine. datsun actually make some pretty cool stuff, just a pity about the gay cars they put them in :lock_folder: HAHAHA. 3SGTE better than SR20DET. fair don't reckon. Quote
irokin Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 SR20DET has a lot more aftermarket goodies too. And then some!! :P Quote
ca18rolla Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 you can get just as much parts for a ca and they are lighter then a SR. Agruement not vaild! :D :) Quote
