TOM Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) Was at a mates block yesterday in the riverland of SA. As I was walking around his two old 70's Hiace's and marvelling at these slowly decaying wonders of mechanical indesctructability, I noticed these hanging off the back. Upon witnessing my excitement and bewilderment at what I had found, he insisted I take them with me as the total price paid for both Hiaces was less than $100. Two are overrated and will clean up brand new, other two can be modified for use. Has anyone ever seen these before? Another mate (Toyota guru) thinks that these may have been off import Hiaces only - can anyone confirm this? I'd really like to find another set as these will probably end up on my '38. I know they're only mudflaps, something which the majority of rollaclubbers probably don't care about, but I was excited! Edited December 13, 2010 by TOM Quote
Drako11 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Hey man I'm excited for you!! haha Those things are totally sweet, wish I could find some!!! I would totally get some paint after I clean them up and paint the TEQ symbols on them like white or something, that would look badazz! Quote
Ben-89 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Well thats a nice score Tom!! Look at the early to late 70's Hilux and Hiace Commercials vehicles as these were fitted to them from Toyota. Both these model were from Japan, so finding them might be a task along with the fact they are over 3 decades old and have probably fallen off. They are in good hands now, so there wont be any issue with cleaning up these and fitting them. And I think mudflaps are cool too  Quote

parrot Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Absolutely! Anything TEQ is cool in my opinion, and they have scrubbed up real well. I get excited by things like that too, but don't tell anyone. Quote
