Evan G Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 google "exhaust backpressure" and have a real good read of it if you do exhaust you should do a intake mod aswell (carby etc etc) so everything works together and makes more power Quote
GJM85 Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 just a small increase from the standard/original system will see an increase in flow, resulting in better economy and better response. doing just the muffler won't have much affect other than noise. Quote
SLW42 Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 what motor is it mate??? I'd advise a set of extractors and a 2inch or 2 and 1/4 inch full exhaust to make it flow better, then add a webber and you should see some form of gain, Quote
jmx2004 Posted December 11, 2010 Author Report Posted December 11, 2010 Wow Thanks for the Feeds Guys.... by the way my KE30 is already in 4k engine 4speed Tranny.... i really do love this car its very compact and packs a vintage old school look.. but with just changing the muffler itself will just give me louder and crisp noise? right? no additional power or decrease in it? but the will it sucks up my gasoline with that setup?? Jono.C Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 With my old ke70, i tried a few differnt things. First off i cut out the resonator in the middle and had pipe welded in, This added a bit of tone/ rasp and went a bit better. Then i had a Oval 2" exit stainless muffler welded on which made it fair louder and gave it a bit more power. Then i had a mate mate me up some stainless headers headers which made an inprovement. But none of this effected fuel economy. To me putting a 32/36 2 litre carby on a 1.3 is stupid. Unless you like wasting fuel it's pretty ordinary. Instead my mate and i modified a 4ac carburettor to fit and it actually went pretty well. Any questions Just ask Jono Quote
SLW42 Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 what did you 'mod' in said carby??? Quote
Evan G Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 get a 28/36 carby off a fiat 1600. fuel economy and power will improve! Quote
Jono.C Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Just the ability to make it bolt to the 4kc and all linkages being able to meet up Quote

BUZ440 Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 what motor is it mate??? I'd advise a set of extractors and a 2inch or 2 and 1/4 inch full exhaust to make it flow better, then add a webber and you should see some form of gain, Second!! Quote
