beerhead Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 A flat-top 4K-C head would have a larger compression area. When I compared my 5K and 4K head's I found the the 5K head was 3mm shorter than the 4K item, and the 4K one was shaved! I noticed no performance change aswell. The best 5K idea I've had of late is to rebuild the motor with 4AGE pistons so it's flat top! not sure exacly about the compression you'll have. Quote
Super Jamie Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 5k has piston dish, 4k head (from flat-top piston motor) has larger combustion chamber than 5k. you'll decompress the motor, probably about 8:1, i could work it out fairly accurately if you're really keen on the idea if you're using a 4k head from a dished piston motor, then you'll probably raise the compression. you'd need to get all the parts together and CC the engine yourself to see Quote
Felix Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 a dished 4k head and a 5k head are exactly the same casting. well, going by the ones i have here anyway. Quote
