kangaroosa Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 how would i go about fabricating a test light :laff: It would cost you more to make one than to buy. You can pick one up for as little as $5 Quote

jono1986 Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 ok so i been fidling around trying to no what I'm doing ALL THE FUSSES ARE FINE so i muster shorted out the stereo and tacho ffs :bash: If all your fuses are fine, you haven't shorted anything out. Just go back over all the colours and where they go (using the wiring diagram), and make sure that the illumination wire isn't shorting out on anything either (if you haven't connected it). It's really going over things and eliminating what could be wrong. Make sure that your going to the negative side of the coil and not the positive, like triple check. Quote
t18drifts Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 how is black the negative wire hmm but i totaly fuked stereo thats all normal how it should be with wiring and it doent even turn on Quote
jono1986 Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 how is black the negative wire hmm but i totaly fuked stereo thats all normal how it should be with wiring and it doent even turn on ummmm run all new wires mate, straight from the battery. Red for positive Black for negative, then any colour from the coil........ Cars cost money man, don't spend any there gonna get f@$ked up and yes i know "you love doing it". Get a better job or more hours so that you can afford to pay someone to do this, or ask someone on here how to do it BEFORE you touch anything. Look for an apprenticeship or something man. Quote

beerhead Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Hey, I'd check the short length of 3 wires from the battery(+) terminal to a 3 pin plug (for some reason toyota used wire as a fuseable link) I bet you've melted one of them if all the fuses are good. No need to run new power feeds straight from the battery and the coil for the tacho too. All the feeds can be stolen from the factory gauge feeds, as tacho's use SFA power. There's a tacho feed already running to the cluster too. Hope this helps. electrics and forums don't get much response, because it's painful enough finding gremlins when you're fiddling with the car hands on. Quote
t18drifts Posted January 12, 2011 Author Report Posted January 12, 2011 yeah thanks man cold u get a picture of what ure talking about that would help heaps and ive treid heaps but i can't get in behind the instruments sigh and yeah the indicators have stoped no light on the dash or on outside or ticking noise and no tail lights when i turn the the lights on our dash back lights except battery hi beam and a few over things like hand brake ect wouldnt have anything with shit grounding would it :hmm: Quote
beerhead Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 I'll get a pic in the morning, but if you look at the + terminal you should find the 3 pin plug and the short length of wire running from the battery to it. Get a test light or a multi meter and make sure they're still all getting power. Quote
t18drifts Posted January 12, 2011 Author Report Posted January 12, 2011 awwk and if that aint it I'm going to an auto electrician maybe lol BUT THE TACHO AND SHIFT LIGHT WORKS .so anoying when u fix somthing and in the process somthing decides to stop working i LOVE CARS  Quote
