B.L.Z.BUB Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Run everything independent of your stereo. Quote
t18drifts Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 :( so id take it its all screwed Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Probably not, everything runs off a fuse, if you have bypassed your fuses then maybe. Take it out, check the fuse in the back of your head unit. Double check your fuse box. Make sure your wire to the ground is solid wire, not just stereo wire, if you get too much resistance there that can cause problems. Any exposed wires anywhere? Quote
t18drifts Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 hmmm yeah when u say head unit do u mean stereo ??????? fus is fine in that Quote
nz_83_dx Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 i conected the rpm wire to the bolt thing on the dizzy shouldn't it be connected to the negative of the coil? Thats what i had to do when installing my autogauge taco Quote
kangaroosa Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Are you saying all electrics are dead? If so, check the fusible link near the battery. I blew one ages ago and couldnt work out why i had no power until i realised the link was there. Quote
t18drifts Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 i can still start my car all dials clock and stuff work the after market taco nedle flickers when igniton goes on and the stereo doesnt do shit all i checked my fuses they all seemed to be alright but i dnt have a test light or multi meter so :bash: Quote
ke70dave Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 got a multi meter? if not get one, and check the power wires to your stereo. Quote
ke70dave Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 $10 from dicksmith/jaycar mate. http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QM1500&keywords=multi+meter&form=KEYWORD best investment you will make in terms of working on electrical stuff on your car. you are only guessing if you don't have one of these. B.L.Z.BUB Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 (edited) I'm with dave, having the right gear is invaluable. Even a home made test light if you can't afford anything else. EDIT: Sh1t dave that's a cheap one. I'm down there this weekend. I only have a 12/240v one. Does the job but was 5 bucks more than that one... Edited December 2, 2010 by blzbub666 Quote
t18drifts Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 how would i go about fabricating a test light :laff: Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Basicly its a 12v bulb with a wire to the + and a wire off the -. If you have current, it lights up. Quote
