Hey guys

my indicators on my KE25 Corolla are acting weird.

Ill tell you the symptoms and maybe we can diagnose the problem.

1. When headlights on left indicators stays on but don't flash

2. When headlights off and indicating left brake lights flash

2. Dash lights other then the indicator light flashes

3. Right indicators don't work.

as well as few other weird things but that's the main stuff

flasher unit gone? wiring messed up?

the indicators and headlights and taillights all used to work perfectly but after I stripped it and put it back together after paint it was working only for a little while then it all went haywire...

Any help greatly appreciated...

Sounds similar to a problem I had with my 86 (with the headlights randomly working). Turned out to be a loose wire where the switches attach to the steering column. You'll probably need to see a wiring diagram. When I pulled the wheel off and took the column apart I was able to find the loose wire.

I could come have a look if you want, if the flasher was broken nothing would flash as there is only one flasher can for both sides. Bad earth is probably a goer as if there is no earth on some lights the current flow through stuff and do weird...umm....stuff. It could well be the switch system itself, with old age and what not.

Would a blown globe cause it? I think it may be a bad earth will see how I go...
