altezzaclub Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Pop the rad hoses off the motor and flush the motor as hard as you can. keep the stocking on there and just keep emptying it, every bit of gunk it catches a something that isn't blocking your radiator. You must get it all clean sooner or later. Quote
Trev Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 What exactly is coming out of it? Quote
Des Posted November 27, 2010 Author Report Posted November 27, 2010 Looks like pebbles from a river. I've flushed the block so many times with the garden hose going full blast. Going to borrow are gurni and use that. Quote
Ben-89 Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 (edited) What about "Muckowt" its produced by Tectaloy and is used for problems like this you are experincing. Apparently it gives the system a good ol' clean out after you run it in there for 20 mins or more. There is more info on their products page. Just last week i flushed my ke70 cooling system as i thought i may have had a blocked rad, it wasnt blocked but sticking the hose down the thermostat then up the bottom hose outlet did it wonders after six shots. Did the same on the rad and it runs like a champ and keeps its cool. And yes gurney the hell out it for good measure :y: Some food for thought. Edited November 27, 2010 by "The Mint KE70" Quote

No kidding, I just drained my rad of coolant last night and it was sooooo damn clean. I dunno if it gets river pebbles out but it got rid of all the crap left over from cooking my head gasket a while ago. Too late. It cooked today in about 3 mins of driving. Des Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 Its alive. It his 130 degrees and melted the spark plugs. Replaced the plugs and it run fine havent driven it out of the yard in a week. Quote
Evan G Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 MELTED THE SPARK PLUGS? pics or ban! while were on the topic of getting hot. ive got a 5k that hits 110degrees before it shoots down to 72 and stays there? at 110 the heater goes cold? wtf would cause that? also i belive that its got a blown h/g due to mist coming out the cap and the coolant always getting pushed into the overflow new w/p/thermostat/radiator (Personally if this thing blew up i couldnt give a rats ass!) No tips left? MELTED THE SPARK PLUGS? pics or ban! while were on the topic of getting hot. ive got a 5k that hits 110degrees before it shoots down to 72 and stays there? at 110 the heater goes cold? wtf would cause that? also i belive that its got a blown h/g due to mist coming out the cap and the coolant always getting pushed into the overflow new w/p/thermostat/radiator (Personally if this thing blew up i couldnt give a rats ass!) Des Posted December 2, 2010 Author Report Posted December 2, 2010 Yeah melted the tips. Does 95 mph on the flat, of course it was on private property. Quote
philbey Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Evan the heater is going cold because the leaking combustion pressure forces your water out of the water jacket and as the heater hoses are at the highest point they run out of water first. Quote
altezzaclub Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 ....and the moment the water level falls below the temp sensor it can't read the real temp and shows a lower reading. So it goes hot and then shows colder even though its getting hotter! Quote
Evan G Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 philbey - that makes total sense! i bled the system after work on a massive 30degree incline. it was full to the brim. went for a drive and coolant temp went thru the roof!(drove for 5mins off the gauge) pulled over at the servo and poped the cap off and there was only air coming out. not one bit of coolant cause it was pushed in the overflow. topped it up again and it was fine? and still no milky in the oil. best $100 5k ive owned Quote
