Mad55 Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 hey, put a turbo 4k in my rolla and just got it going yesterday and its an bad need of a tune, does anyone know of any good places in adelaide hat will be able to tune a turbo 4K? it goes but as soon as it starts to hit boost it stops geting enough fuel so i need it tuned. thanks Quote
SLO-030 Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Sounds like not enough fuel pressure, got a guage on the reg? Quote
philbey Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 My money is down that you've got your fuel bowls at atmospheric pressure. If so, tuning will get you nowhere, post up more details of the setup Quote
Mad55 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Report Posted November 11, 2010 i have a Carter 18psi in line fuel pump and malpassi rising rate fuel pressure reg but no guage on it so ill have to get one of those i think Quote
philbey Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 that's fine, but how are you controling the air pressure in your fuel bowl? Do you have a pilot line to the fuel bowl, or perhaps you have boxed up the carby? Quote
TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Get a gauge for sure. Is the reg a carbie style reg of efi? If it's an efi reg you wont get the base pressure low enough for the carb and you will be running the full pressure the pump can supply all the time. For instance, holleys run a base pressure of 7psi and dcoe style webers run about 3-4psi before they get upset. Your base fuel pressure should always be the same amount plus your boost pressure. So if you have 7psi base pressure plus 10psi boost your purl pressure should raise to 17psi. Ok, enough rambling. Throw some pics up of the setup so we can get a better idea of what's going on. altezzaclub Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 If you haven't pressurised the fuel bowl then I reckon Philbey has it- As you pressurise the carby you blow the fuel back up the jets into the float bowl. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 Most of those webers are vented into the throats so don't know it that is the issue. Quote
78corolla Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 any updates? keen to see what this makes Quote
