cp1989 Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 okay so I'm replacing my clutch in my 4agte. I'm thinking of putting in a heavy duty exedy clutch. are there any other well known, good quality brands of clutch that i could opt for? Quote
SLW42 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 cushioned button clutch would be my vote cause they loved being kicked hard and you can still drive them like a normall clutch, Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 cushioned 4/5/6 puck button clutch and atleast a one tonne pressure plate. Quote
cp1989 Posted November 9, 2010 Author Report Posted November 9, 2010 thanks everyone for the info. msgs have been sent and hopefully will have new clutch in no time. Quote
Grand Master of Awesome Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Xtreme Clutch do you run an xtreme clutch? most people that have had them said they die after 6 months and would rather opt for an exedy +1 for cushion button. Quote
wagn Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 do you run an xtreme clutch? most people that have had them said they die after 6 months and would rather opt for an exedy +1 for cushion button. i have herd nothing but bad things about extreme clutches also Quote
HIGH ROLLER Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 1 Vote for Jim Berry Race Clutches. I haven't got mine yet, but have heard nothing but great reviews about his setups. Easy on the foot, easy on the wallet, can tolerate plenty power and hard to break. Cheers, Mark M Quote
cp1989 Posted November 10, 2010 Author Report Posted November 10, 2010 thats good news then cause i just ordered a heavy duty exedy clutch. Quote
kangaroosa Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 do you run an xtreme clutch? most people that have had them said they die after 6 months and would rather opt for an exedy +1 for cushion button. I have had one in my car for over 12months with no issues. The exedy equivilent of my package was quoted at over $1000. Xtreme was half that. I may have to upgrade the clutch at a later date as the hp from BridgePort is borderline with the specs of the clutch. But thats a whole other issue and not related to 'Xtreme' Quote
SLW42 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Jim Berry or NPC Agreed NPC makes a bloody good clutch i had a custom cushioned button in my ef and it never slipped once even with the odd 3rd and 4th gear clutch kicks :D Quote
tas_ae71 Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 can't go wrong with exedy, the bloke at NPC was very helpful with a can do attitude for custom stuff to suit my requirements and was very fair in the price departmment too. couldnt help me enough. ive never used xtreame but when i was getting quotes i think they where more expensive then the equivelent exedy and twice that of what NPC quoted.
