K Engine Oil Cooler?

Does anybody make a sandwich plate or oil cooler kit for the K engine?

I was told a sandwich plate from any toyota will fit but i can not confirm it

go down to autobarn, they sell a sandwitch plate for Z9 oil filters (same as Z68/Z368 3/4 thread) for like $60 if i remember correctly

HKS make a oil cooler kit for K motors well did awhile ago. Thermostat controlled etc the lot.

Looks a bit big to me. I would take it back and exchange for a much smaller one (half that) if you can.

 

Whatever, make sure you use a thermostat in the cooler circuit. Either within the sandwich plate itself, or remotely.

it's 550x165x50. Would it cool the oil too much you think?

Yes way too big, but if it's got a thermostat it'll work fine. That's a bigger cooler than on a mates 700hp 2J.

That's the beast you'll need. If you use a normal plate with a cooler like yours the motor will never warm up enough for the internal tolerances to be right.

In all honesty, for a K motor I wouldn't worry about it. I ran a VERY angry 3K in all forms of motorsport (including a lot of rallying) for years in Queensland without the need for one.
