TRD ke70 Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) That's an early dizzy you have, 5k's didn't have a screw on the vac advance. But 3k's did. Edited October 28, 2010 by TRD ke70 Quote
Evan G Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 thats what i thought, so its not a electonic 5k dissy Quote
SLW42 Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Posted October 28, 2010 ok lads i took a shitty camera phone picture considering it is night time outside hahahaha, No this 5k doesn't have a elctric dizzy i think somewhere along the line i got ripped off >| :P But there is a little knob looking thing poking out of the side of the dizzy and you adjust the vac advance with that, i will try get onto the computer so i can modify the picture abit better But here is the picture Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Yeah that's an early 3k dizzy, they're the ones that are easy to lock up for boosted applications. I don't think the screw really adjusts that much, maybe 2* at most, so don't stress too much about it. From memory the vac advance is supposed to give you around 8* so you can check that with a timing light pulling the vac line on and off. Quote
SLW42 Posted October 29, 2010 Author Report Posted October 29, 2010 yeah it's just becoming a pain in the ass when tryin to start it as the car starts then wont idle :hmm: (don't just think oh it's ya fuel mixture, adjust that :/ i have and now i'm onto timing) cause the motor ran fine in the 36, now it's in the 70 it doesn't wanna do it. I just wanna know how many turns from it being screwed right in is it supposed to be out? Quote
ke20rolla Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Hi, there should be 3 red lines on that screw. Set it so that the middle one is flush with the dizzy body. Quote
