Thought i would share this with you guys, since I've tested it with a few people and it does make a difference.

 

This handy little program will actually optimise your windows registry (windows 95/98/ME/2000/2003 Server/NT/XP) and configures it to noticably increase the speed of your connection.

Speedguide TCP Optimiser

 

Works with dial-up too if you're on a network or if your modem is internal (i think) as you have to select your dial-up adapter from the list.

 

1. Set the slider to 3000kbps for a 1.5mb and below link, higher for ADSL2

2. select the optimal settings button down the bottom.

3. Hit apply

4. Follow the rest and let the system reboot and reconnect.

***UPDATE***

 

Tried it with a Cable internet connection and it didnt seem to speed it up at all. If anyone else finds otherwise, paste in here.
