Yeah.

 

I think the thing that really ticked me off the most is the graffiti & lack of respect. The general attitude of the place isnt very good. I almost feel slightly better when i say - its not just me that is on the receiving end of it.

 

I can deal with the dick heads, the rude, the incompetent - thats everywhere in life.

 

Couldn't get the arvo off to see John, So ill be calling him early next week.

 

Will be trying to get the car to the exhaust shop after i get back from my fraiser island trip next week.

 

Oh. After talking with Shannon (Corona Driver, some of you have met him) -> its been descided the front end needs to be pulled out and re-done.

(Ie. Front struts, lower control arms, caster bars, sway bar). Will be replacing it all with the Ae86 stuff, which i have and need to recondition. Reason i say this is the bushes in the front of the current setup are farked anyway & having the T18 rear has changed the brake bias abit, and putting the Ae86 front stuff in will even it back up again.

 

So, if anyone wants a set of (insert brand new in front of every part used here) Ke70 Struts on reco' control arms, brakes, yada yada, Put your hand up! Can even supply with a set of genuine, new Toyota brake pads from 1982. :hmm:

I can totally see where your coming from teddy, my aprrenticeship was hell, i even chucked the towel in for a couple of years after i got qualified. Went back reluctantly and found it was ok for a few years then the stupid ship all over again.

 

I decided to try management and it worked out really well but after 2 1/2 years working for an american company. My team and the rest of Australia was made redundant for maintenance, so i found myself dealership hopping once again and found myself at a no nonsense family owned large toyota/truck/farming company and things have been fantastic.

 

Hang in there get your papers and then start shopping around if the boss wont make real changes in the work place, its up to you.

 

Oh and i personally think if one man touches another mans car with the intent to disrespect it then i think your perfectly within your right to slowly dismember them, salting their wounds whilst trying to keep them alive as long as possible.

Wow, so many more things to do. Surprised about the ball joints etc, I thought everything on this car was new? Hope you get the brakes etc sorted out soon.

 

And $17/hour? Wow, I would have thought people in the automotive trade would earn more than that - is that a "normal" wage? Hell I'd pay you more (tax free :)), wanna come and diagnose some silly problems on my car? :)

bummin about the car mate. its unbelievable the amount of wankers around ay.... theres no need for what they do n they just make the world a worse place.. after a while you just start to expect the worste. then the bad doesnt seem so bad..mmm pessimism

as a third year carpenter ill be on around about that much.

 

qualified is a minimum 25p/h pretty much, and thats for your average monkey.

 

there never has been money for the worker in the automotive trade, especially not in fleet workshops and the like.

you could try and get a job at a more 'premium' brand. BMW, AUDI, Mercedes all look after there employees REALLY well if they figure you are a 'company man'.

Working for mercedes isn't "all that" You Still have all the same people working with you. The only difference is the cars you work on, and to tell you the truth, it becomes more of a pain in the ass. Haha, but i still love my apprenticeship, i just look over all of the shit things about it.

Thanks for the reply s guys :). Good to get a bit of an insite into what is happening elsewhere with everyone.

 

Blue car is coming home for a few weeks, as I'm sick of people touching it.

 

Found out it was 1 of 2 guys at work today. They are the physically "largest" blokes there, the Alfa Males. I really don't have anything against either of them to be honest.. One of them started treating me like a piece of dirt for a few months there, and now his mood is about as predictable as a bouncy ball in a washing machine. He is either bipolar, Drug fuc*ed or on something nasty. We use to get along like a house on fire.

The other one is.. Acts normal around single people.. and then differently around others. Regardless of your physical status, i don't see why people still need to use others to boost their already sky-high ego. Wow, you've a gym junkie, but turn around and hit the ciggys and pop a pill here and there. Intelligence + 1.

 

So ! yes, Car has done 76.1 Kms, Have not found any more tingling issues with it, which is a positive :). Had to wash the top of the car and shammy it to get the penis off. To be honest, i still get angry thinking about it... but it is what it is. I have no plans on pursuing it any further & don't intend on stooping to his level to retaliate. 

 

Ill try to keep the blog aspect out of this from now on.. Its just good to show a few people what happens behind the scenes in such a "professional" place.

But having said all that about my shit hole of a work. We are desperately in need for technicians, and if i bring someone to our company and they make it past 3 months i get $500.... *hint* *hint* Haha would be awesome to have another corolla driver working at my work. Oh, i forgot to say. I read through this whole build the other day. f@$king attention to detail is second to none...
