love ke70 Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 just a thought my dad has told me about this stuff he used back in the UK. was a motor that hadnt been run for a while, had shit compression and was running like a 3 legged dog pulling a sack of spuds across a frozen lake... bought this stuff that frees up the rings. poured a few drops in each cyl. then left it to sit as per instructions started up, large plumes of smoke. then the motor was just fine. maybe worth a try? Teddy Posted September 24, 2007 Author Report Posted September 24, 2007 Great to hear from you mumblezzz. Yeah, its a shame, but ill just have to bite the bullet, pull it down and re-freshn it. I did happen to take it for a quick squiz up the road and back, to test the brakes ~ and holy_*%&S does that thing get up and move. *SMILE* Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Life is a bitch, It throws you a bone and you have to eat it.. Looks like a pull down and rebuild, out comes the motor again.. Will be interesting to see what is causing it.. On that note, Just finished painting the windscreen wipers.. Quote
7shades Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Moreys upper cylinder and head lubricant.... mixes in with your fuel.... I had a very very similar problem on in a K motor that had been sitting for quite a while and it worked... stuck rings. I'd really suggest you give the stuff a go before you strip her down... might as well, its like 10 bucks for a bottle. Quote

Teddy Posted September 26, 2007 Author Report Posted September 26, 2007 Saturday will result in motor being pulled out, and strip-zored down. Off to machine shop mondey, with a list of *i want this, this and this :D* Yesterday, Spent 11 1/2 hours working on the car. Sanding and painting panels, created custom mounts for ECU and painted, assembled and installed wiper blades & arms, installed boot and fuel release lock, installed and bolted down dashpad; it needed some custom holes to re-alighn it (after 20+ years, things get a little loose, and stretched..), painted and installed center console mounts, Test fitted my custom dash (justin will upload pics) - I took all the fancy bits off it, just to test it (so crap isnt falling off, ive kind gota assemble it in the car - you'll see) what else did i doooo,...Noted spark plugs are overly black all of a sudden, and Put my finger on no.2 piston is either cracked / part of it missing / ring cracked / etc.. something in that area. You could liturally hear the piston clacking around when i cranked it over lol Picking up rest of interiour tomorrow :) Quote
