Medicine_Man Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 While I was busy doing some wiring work on the front on Saturday, Matt was busy getting his sound deadening and some of the dash back in. I have been stripping out any unnecessary wiring from the front harness and extended the tacho pulse wire / ignition coil power wire to the other side. Also managed to figure out the wiring for the twin headlights (Will finish wiring them up during the week). Then thanks to Matt being able to borrow a good Toyota wiring manual, Figured out how to wire up the original relay box for the thermo fan. (Spot already exists to house the relay).. Should be able to throw it back in pretty soon, Then it is back to tidying up the dash harness... Matt got the sound deadening back on the firewall and got his heater box and air con box back in.. demuire Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I still can't believe you painted the bits INSIDE the heater box... Quote
love ke70 Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I'm surprised they didnt do the sound deadening :o Quote
Medicine_Man Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I still can't believe you painted the bits INSIDE the heater box... Half the reason for that is Matt's athsma and the 20 year old foam that turns to dust and blows out the vents.. I'm surprised they didnt do the sound deadening :o It is going to be his daily so he wanted it to be pretty quiet inside.. In other news will have his starter motor done at work tomorrow to bring home.. Quote

Medicine_Man Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 It had a quick shot of flat black already over the top to hide the original blue colour.. Quote

Yes yes, I understand the foam seal issue, but the gold paint! :y: Then again, you did also paint the fuel lines, and well - just about every other part of the car :) Quote
Medicine_Man Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Bolted the starter motor on tonight, Also scored an AE86 JDM washer bottle off Anthony Kellam for it. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 Few things have been done over the past couple of weekends. Fitted new sparkplugs, New rotor button (Waiting on new distributer cap still), Fitted old leads. Filled motor with oil. Brake lines have all been fitted and brakes have been bled (Still needs handbrake cables fitted). Clutch has been bled. Heater hoses have been fitted, Lower radiator mounts have been positioned (Waiting to be welded in). Twinlight front resprayed black. Today I fitted the new starter motor wiring harness (Works good). Fitted alternator wiring harness (Still have to wire in the charge light / ignition / battery sense wires). Fabricated plate to cover up cold idle. Teddy fitted battery clamp and sprayed twinlight front edges silver. Might post some pictures up tomorrow.. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 IT'S ALIVE!!! OMGWTFBBQ(#%)%!!! Short youtube video to follow as proof, Battery is low from riverfire lastnight.. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Today I finished, fitting the intake manifold bolting the throttle body on cold start injector line. Teddy, installed carpet underlay ran new fuel pump wire fitted brass connector on fuel line connecting the fuel filter fuel rail return line We then proceeded to install the engine wiring harness, Powered up the ECU and got spark happening, Powered up the fuel pump and proceeded to pour fuel out before the rail. Once fuel leak was fixed we tried to run it up and roughly set the timing, still didn't seem to want to fire up. No power at the injectors for some reason, Turns out it was a dodgy connection at a blade fuse. Then it still didn't seem to want to go, Teddy took #1 plug out and it had snapped in half.. Replaced it with an old plug and it seems to run quite nicely.. Bit of wiring to tidy up and install a circuit opening relay for the fuel pump and we should be able to take it for a drive around the yard.. Quote
