Dull high beams? Is it even possible for KE70s to have bright ones, I have new everything and its really not bright at all.

 

yes it is, piss off the old bosch alternator and fit a denso one that charges at 14.4 volts.

I was mainly having a crack at KE70s mine are pretty good now, however they where ʞ©$ɟen horrid.

LH inner headlight was seated incorrectly; earthing on the frame of the light housing. Every time anyone would get in or out of the car, it would be enough to move the headlamp assembly enough to earth out and turn the high beams on with low beams. 4 hours of fun for something.. so silly. Yes it works... It still works. no it doesn't. yes it does. no it doesn't. The hell../ Rant

Still sorting all the fiddly shit you encounter with a car that's been built from scratch and been sitting for years...

Stuff that was installed new is now old and needs replacing, wiring loom was completely remade and some things aren't quite right, just lots of annoying little things.

 

We have 5 more days to get it on the road and put some serious k's on it to iron out the bugs and run in the engine before embarking on a rather long trip.

 

This car has done a grand total of 85 k's, and most of that is backwards and forwards being shuffled around inside various sheds.

Where are you ever going to find a place to do that? You'd want some kind of mountain pass... or three.

Thinking Port Douglas for lunch on day one. Nice mix of tight and sweeping corners, speeds from 40 to 100 so the revs are varied and she beds in nicely.

 

Also, corner pub does a f*cking fantastic barra fillet.

Oh Hai :)

 

1) Headlights converted to removable beams (no longer sealed) using H7 Bulbs; they don't have an isolated earth. Until I upgrade to HID's, 2x sealed beams will get this through road worthy lol. What a nightmare that was finding the bad earth -_-

2) Rear brakes sticky and.. needed adjusting - done

 

3) Windscreen washer re-adjusted

 

4) Ash tray converted into a twin pull out cup holder from a 2002 hilux cup holder assy

 

5) Nanna visor will be installed in the morning on the rear window after being re-sprayed

 

6) New LCA bushes installed

 

7) Factory centre caps from the stock 13" steelie wheels fit perfectly inside the 'focus espree' wheels giving it that.. factory touch =D

 

8) secondary bazooga horn installed ^_^

 

9) indicators playing up due to leaking diode (after-market alarm being a whore); temporarily removed

 

need to do

- green dash light above ciggy lighter needs to be replaced

- Install low beam lights

- Install wheels

- Rego

- Install OKE70 plates ;)

- Drive
