yeah, i wrote the faq. i've since moved it over to this site, where it's in wiki format, so everyone can contribute!

LOL, superjamie the cut and past king. you mean you put it together from info you gleaned from other members on oldcorollas. no offence, full marks for putting all the info together. it is just that it is info other members from oldcorollas already contributed and jamie just put it in one place.

what you said is clearly stated in the faq, and has been since the beginning, it was the first page i ever wrote for it. i have never claimed to have tried, trialled, researched and discovered the whole lot myself. some of it i did, most of it i didn't. i just collated it into an easy to read format, because yahoo groups search is crap, and i saw alot of good info going to waste because of it. and now it's a wiki, hosted here, so everyone can continue to contribute and make it better

i hope you enjoy belittling your friends, doug. you're doing it quite alot lately and it's hurtful. i'm not the only one who thinks so

geez, don't get so melodramatic.

hurtful? seriously, you come across as being the type who speaks their mind and doesn't give a shit what others think....why get so touchy feely all of a sudden? it should be water off a ducks back to you.

i gave you full credit for compiling the FAQ. the worst thing i said was calling you the king of copy and paste. sorry i hurt your feelings. maybe i will think a little more before hitting the post button in future. probably wouldn't hurt if you did the same, you seem to like taking newbs down all the time.

i don't give a rats ass about noobs. i do, however, care about the close group of car friends i've built up over the years, both in what i say to them, and what they say to me

a bit of thought would not go astray, perhaps on both of our parts

seeya on the boards

righto, well seems like my little topic kinda got a little out of hand :-P. anyway, I'm planning on taking my 'rolla to a good mate of mine who's dad is an engine reconditioner and see what he thinks of the engine. fingers crossed it's all good.

i'll probably keep the topic updated if i actually get anything done. however i just bought myself a sub-notebook computer for uni next year, so yea i dunno how much work i'll be getting done on the car any time within the next month or so. hopefully ill get something done soon tho.

ta for the help anyways. foote.

righto, went and had a chat to the engine reconditioner (Re-Power Engine Re-conditioning :-) ) and he's doing me up a quote.... should be ready soon. So i'll see how much I need to spend. Fingers crossed I can do something alright for cheap.

Hey super jamie.... just interested.... what exactly did you do to your 4K? was it naturally aspirated? or did you turbo or supercharge it or something? o yea and how much power did you end up getting? any idea? from what you said, it sounded pretty damn impressive.

060 pistons, balanced, 25/65 cam, ported 3k bigport head (waste of money, use a 4k head and port it). more details on my website which i haven't updated for ages, i've since written the car off :D

cracked with both stock singlecarb and twin SUs, 8500rpm no worries

still, it was unsatisfying. two and a half grand and i only wound up with just over 100hp and a lumpy idle. if i did it again, i'd do a 4ag or something that makes decent power stock
