Super Jamie Posted September 17, 2005 Author Report Posted September 17, 2005 yeah, the holder for the torsion bar on one side moves. mine only has one in, but i still have to use ghetto stick technology as well. i'll get a photo tomorrow (of the hinge, not the stick) mine has same doors as a ke30 2 door, so i'd need those handles, the ones on an angle Quote
Felix Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 just be careful, if the hinges jam, they will bend. then you will have a big gap at the top of the rear door, and the tailgate will not close. this is what happened with Bec's ke16. we removed the torsion bars, straightened the hinges and now use broomstick technology to hold the tailgate up. a set of gas struts will find their way on one day....... Super Jamie Posted September 17, 2005 Author Report Posted September 17, 2005 mine has the same thing on one side, the side that has the torsion bar disconnected. aha! Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 shower curtain rod here...... you know you wanna keep it jamie wagons RULE!!!!!! oh, i will be buying a TE38, you want parts? yes? Quote
Super Jamie Posted September 17, 2005 Author Report Posted September 17, 2005 like for parts? postage would be a killer tho :) Quote
mumblezzz Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Cool panel van! I remember my parents used to have one of these when I was really young. There was a baby seat bolted in behind the passenger seat for me to sit in. :) Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 ya, if you need something rare we never got the 2 door wagon after '74, and never the 4dr wagon before '75 did those things absolutley have no back seat? Quote
Super Jamie Posted September 18, 2005 Author Report Posted September 18, 2005 no back seat at all, it's all factory metal sheeting. i'll get a photo of it without the carpet :) i believe there was a 4 door, 4 seater wagon in the ke36 and ke38. i'm not sure if the 2 door, 2 seater was just in ke36, or in ke38 as well? Quote
Felix Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 i believe there was a 4 door, 4 seater wagon in the ke36 and ke38. yep, pretty sure there was. what is wyldphyres? the 2 door panelvans look better. i might actually have a spare door from a ke30 2 door sedan at my parents. think it is drivers side. what side was your half stuffed tailgate hinge on? might have a passenger side one of them as well as the torque rods. Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 the ones in the te38 were good the car only had 60,000 mi on it i think the headliner was good too Quote
demuire Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Umm, I think Haikal's is a KE36. 4 door wagon. How are you meant to put the torsion bars back in? I'd like to put them back into Haikal's wagon, but I can't figure out how to torque them up... Quote
Felix Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 you need to pull off the tail gate, drop the hoodlining in the back, and then the pull both hinges out together. once you have them on the ground you can install the torsion bars. PITA. Quote
Starlet82 Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Congratulation jamie, it's been a while since I've logged in. I see you have a new Corolla.... Quote
Super Jamie Posted September 18, 2005 Author Report Posted September 18, 2005 yeah, passenger side of mine is the bent one. it still seems to seal alright tho, i didnt look too closely. if you've got it lying around, i'll be happy to take it off your hands :) Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Both my hinged are disconnected..... I have welded on some VH Holden Commodore struts, and they work a treat.....! :) Quote
