OMR510 Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 (edited) Hi there all, new to the Rolla Club but will soon be a very active member in regards to picking peoples brains.I just bought a genuine granny spec KE38 Wagon with an original 160,000 on the clock which I plan to do a rotor conversion in. This wont be my first rotor conversion as I have already had a Datsun 1600 with a 13B BP in it. Anyway I thought I would post up some pics and put the feelers out as I need a lot of info on brake, diff and suspension upgrades/conversions as well as interchangeability of bits between various Toyota models. I am a mechanic but I am more familiar with Datsun stuff and Holdens ( I work in dealership) So anyway if you have info or can link me to relevant posts pm me or just post here. Anyway enjoy the pics (taken off phone so excuse the quality) REgards Keith Update: Seen quite a few different engine combo's on here for sale now, might forgo the Rotor conversion for some 4cyl Turbo power. Koni adjustables in the rear now. Going to have my rear springs reset and get my front struts sorted asap Edited October 30, 2010 by OMR510 Quote
Des Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 Looks like a clean chariot Kieth. Hilux diff would be on the list. http://www.hoppers.com.au/ Brake upgrades. Quote
LXY-642 Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 love the ke36/8 wagon's. also would love to see this with a 13bbp in it :) Quote
JJT036 Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 Wow!! Welcome to Rollaclub. Good to see another Ke36/38 on here. That is a Really Nice Ke38 you have there. The Rotary Conversion is sounding good. If you go ahead with the Rotary, You should Lower her 2" or 3" All Round and Keep the Grandma-Spec look, Including an Exterior Sun-Visor and Rear-Window Venetians. Cheers, Josh  Quote
OMR510 Posted October 9, 2010 Author Report Posted October 9, 2010 I am planning on keeping the granny spec look (for now) with the only changes being, new steering wheel (old one way too thin) tacho (hidden except for blazing light when shift light goes off ) decent front seats (try to get retrimmed in same or similiar pattern) lowering of course , want to find some 15inch steelies (bit wider for the back) but I am trying to keep it all rather stock looking. Have added some new pics which you can see the interior etc plus I am half way through polishing and giving a general tidy up In case you were wondering about the plates the used to read Mister Five Ten when on the 1600, but i think its pretty appropriate that the read Mister SLO now lol Thanks for all the support guys its appreciated Quote
