mine was about $350 woth of paint and 150 worth of materials (spray gun, sand paper, bog) and maybe and 1 weeks works work in the garage.

its not perfect there are dents everywhere, but its all one colour, metalic blue and shiny!

its only an old ke70 that cost me 300 bucks, no way was i gonna spend 1000's on getting it painted....

it turned out pretty good, the actual paint is awesome considering me and my mate had no idea what we were doing, and just got a 15 minuite lesson from the guy who sold the gun to us.

we could have spent alot more time on it, but it was just supposed to make the car all one colour, which it is.

Yeah, 7k-15k is pretty average, it all depends on what you can do yourself and what you want the finished product to be like.

My ke10 will owe me around 6-700 for a Respray, it will be straight as factory and the paint will be sweet but I'm not doing door jams or inside the boot the dash etc etc. It's only acrylic white so it's easy as pie. Doing all the bodywork/prep work is where the moneys being saved.

If you have 3k to spend you will do alright, just steer clear of all the big panel shops etc. Strip the far yourself and get it to the panel shop, re assemble it yourself too. This all saves money. There's a place down the road from my work (cranwell street sunshine) that do good cheap work and there fast. But if you have rust, big dents etc don't expect a quick cheap job from anyone! Unluss you repair it beforehand.

True- the more work you do yourself the cheaper it will be. A lot of a respray is boring basic sanding and stripping/re-assembling it, so if you do those it should cost between a grand and $1500.

Go see the nearest couple of guys and talk it over. I sanded & stripped the blue car as much as I could, drove it down and took some panels off at the panelshop, they undercoated it and I reassembled it enought to take it home.

Then I sanded down all the undercoat and repeated it. Not exactly legal driving it half-stripped, that's why you get someone close to home. I took out some of the dents and left some others in.

3/4 of the car cost $800 in Glasurit. Looks great and will do for decades.
