freemz-dreemz Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 (edited) hi there thought id put this up once id at least rego'ed it this is my ke55 i bought for $400. originally bought this as a donor car for my 13b bridgy N/A out of my rx7 as it is in the process of a bridgy turbo conversion. i liked the shape of the ke30 and looks a fairly straight forward conversion as conversions go. anyways it was a bit beat up, rust in usual places, completely standard but overall in not too bad nick as ive seen alot worse. never was a fan of the 55 front end and bumpers kinda looked a bit queer so that was first to go. 30 bonnet, bumpers and grill next engine got a tidy up, new leads, service etc, degrease, coat of matt black for a tidy up (hate yellow)and so on. then fiddled with the interior..dyed the carpet black and vinyl black dyed the door cards and back seat. spray plastics with matt black along with the door jams and door surrounds. installed stereo (sub, amp, speakers) that i had lying around already. picked up the wheels (17's) for 150 bucks put sum tyres i had spare on, (it needed bolt on spacers for front and slip ons for the rear as they were fwd offset. new brake pads and the like were next. finally the paint...mission....done on a budget (300 bucks including paint/ materials and actually painting) came outp not too bad either considering it was gloss black and only spent about a day sanding and the like in overcast windy weather. not perfect but not bad considering I'm far from a panel beater. just got it painted last friday and registered today... this week off to have a look at get rear leafs reset and sort front springs to match with angle grinder. and window tint the follow week when i can get booked in. finally once ive completed my turbo conversion of the 7 ill decide if it deserves my 13b or throw my stocker 12a in i have lying around either way it will have a rotor in it eventually. will post the build in tech builds incase anyone wants to see how ill do the conversion heres some pics before lowering and tint and stuff cheers Trent now lowered Edited October 6, 2010 by freemz-dreemz Quote

saammyke55 Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 sorry to start on such an old thread, but i was just wondering if someone could tell me what grill he used? as i want one for my little ke55., is it very hard to change to this style of grill? thankyou in advance (: Quote
Clapped out Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 The grille is an update/late ke30 grille, pretty much a straight swap, all you have to do is find some ke30 headlight holders, as they are more shallow than the ke55 ones. Quote
