Istartfires Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Would it be a good ideato do a 13t-u conversion into my ksev? I am thinking about buying a defected t18 (on the forum here) and putting the motor in. How hard would this conversion be and what else would I need ? Any imput is good. I would have searched but I don't know how on my iPhone Quote
GJM85 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 I'm sure you mean 3T-U. My dad put a 3T in my KE70 when I moved on to a AE71. Quote
Des Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) T18 = steering box Ke70 = rack and pinion. Cross members are not interchangeable unless you can cut the rack mounts off and re-weld them. Custom mounts ? Edited September 21, 2010 by AE70 Quote
SLW42 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 T18 engine mounts onto an ae71 crossmember will get it done and then the appropriate blue plate (or whatever colour they have in your state) Quote

I'm pretty bad when it comes to cars but I hope my mate can help me. Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 I'm sure you mean 3T-U There is such a thing as a 13TU, and I believe it did come in T-18s... 1 Quote
Istartfires Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 There is such a thing as a 13TU, and I believe it did come in T-18s... The car is in the car parts section, It says 13t-u import motor I'm clueless. Quote
MattyZ Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 i have a 13T in my ta22 so yes they do exist Quote
GJM85 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 There is such a thing as a 13TU, and I believe it did come in T-18s... Yes. I stand corrected. A 1770CC T series engine. I imagine in would be the same block again. a 85/78 Bore and Stroke. No doubt a much large combustion chamber and high top pistons... produced 95 hp (71 kW) at 5400 RPM and 109 ft·lbf (147 N·m) at 3400 RPM 13T-U Quote
SLW42 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 ISTARTFIRES, it would be a bolt in affair if you get the things you need, 1. You will need a ae71 pedal box or hydraulic clutch master and slave cylinder, and the line, 2. An ae71 crossmember, and i think a ae71 gearbox crossmember and it'll just about bolt in and run :) hope that helps, and 13T-U's do exsist i had one from a t18 in my old ta22 then i broke it haha Quote

SLW42 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 You just use the t18 engine mounts and apparently it'll go straight in Quote

SLW42 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Yeah probably a good idea unless you wanna flip the k rad upside down to get it happening right haha, cause the t series motors top rad hoses are on the right side, and bottom on the left, and k series is in reverse :) Quote
bruce Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Would I need too swap radiators or anything like that? You can just turn the thermostat housing 180 degrees to match the top inlet of your radiator. Quote
