Sirolla[RL] Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 (edited) YAY! Finally a rollaclub cruise that's being/getting organised. Post up dates here for a suitable time for a meet. I'm not that good in organising a meet (i did a July boost meet and only attracted 15 odd people :jamie: ) I reckon Sunday's a good day for a meet/bbq/cruise. Probably weekday's too, but i reckon most are working/uni/doing other stuff. I reckon we should organise one for next month, so we could probably get more rollaclub members at the next drags/lapsprint days at the end of the month. :P Edited October 1, 2005 by Sirolla Quote
Sirolla[RL] Posted September 9, 2005 Author Report Posted September 9, 2005 (edited) Also what i might do is handout flyers on windscreens on rolla's so we could up our numbers. (Won't rollaclub be happy if we had a huge turnout :jamie: ) Because i see quite alot of rolla's around, so might ask em to join (as long as they are willing....and nice people too :P Hows the stickers coming along too? ancullen Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 The flyers sound like a great idea. As to the cruise, I was considering a night time cruise, but the more I think about it the less I like the idea. So a Saturday or Sunday cruise would be cool. I don't work Saturdays at all, and I only work every second Sunday, and even then I only start at 3.30, so as long as we were all finished up by about 1pm I'd be happy. The only thing that might interfere with this is the next Hidden Valley race meet, which should be Sunday 25 September, so it can't be that day. The race meeting for October is currently scheduled for Sunday 23rd, and I don't foresee that date being changed, so if we want to get people interested in coming to that race meet, we should have the cruise day at least a fortnight beforehand so everyone has time to prepare for the race meet if they want to attend. Sunday 2 October sounds good to me (to make it easier to work around work commitments). That or any Saturday should be cool. Thoughts/suggestions? Quote

I'm not that good in organising a meet (i did a July boost meet and only attracted 15 odd people :P ) BTW, getting 15 people up here interested in a RollaClub cruise would rock!!! I think I'm going to have to get Nick to send extra stickers!!! Quote
ancullen Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 The next race meet has been changed from the 25th of September to the 2nd of October. This suits me really well as I was working on the 25th, whereas I'm not working on the 2nd :n:. I still don't see any reason why the meeting scheduled for the 23rd of October will change, except if they decide the two meetings are too close together and move it back a week. In extra good news, this week delay till the next race meet means I might have Lola ready, as my soon-to-be father-in-law has just built a car trailer and has offered to work on the car as he is now in town more permanently (instead of being out of town 3 out of 4 weeks of the time). WOO-HOO!!! Quote
ancullen Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 In light of the change to the date of the race meet, I think the cruise should be on Saturday the 1st of October (in the afternoon, after scrutineering for the next day's racing). That way there's plenty of time for anyone interested to get ready for the race meet at the end of the month, and anyone that's going to racing on the next day can let everyone know so they can meet up or whatever. Any suggestions for a better date than Saturday October 1st??? Quote
ancullen Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 (edited) Confirmed participants: ancullen (Adam - Black ZZE122R Hatch) sirolla (Daven - White AE92 Hatch) DEEONE (Lenard - Don't know what he'll bring) stable (1987 VL 5ltr) DRdb (Red AE92) Possible participants: Craig (unofficial-member, Blue AE82 Hatch) Chris (non-member, Brown AE71 Sedan) Tony (non-member, White AE92 Seca) I haven't included people who are coming with those listed above. Try and spread the word and get as many Rollas as you can involved. Edited September 17, 2005 by ancullen Quote
Sirolla[RL] Posted September 13, 2005 Author Report Posted September 13, 2005 (edited) Sounds awesome ancullen. If its a Saturday afternoon, i can probably get the afternoon off from work. :n: If i could get the Sunday off, i'll love to be on the track, doing a few lapsprints and a feel the G's of my body roll. :P I've just sms'd a couple of mates who know some people with rolla's, just just waiting for a reply if they are interested. Might go through that list in the rolla spotters thread and make that as a checklist of some sort. Is DEEONE around? He could be a huge help too even tho he doesn't have a rolla anymore, but he could let those with rolla's know about the cruise. Edited September 13, 2005 by Sirolla Quote
ancullen Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 DEEONE has just SMS'd me back to let me know he's in. He definitely still has quite a few Rollas, I'm just not sure if any are registered (unfortunately I don't think that'll stop him bringing one). He has told me he will also spread the word around. I'm still waiting on a response from Craig (not yet a member) with the baby-blue AE82 hatch with cut springs. Quote
ancullen Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 I might also see if my sister or her boyfriend are interested in bringing her AE92 Seca. It's nothing special, but it's got the stickers and would help with numbers :n:. Quote
Sirolla[RL] Posted September 13, 2005 Author Report Posted September 13, 2005 (edited) wicked! the one who took all the white rollaclub stickers :P (are they in yet by any chance?) nice nice! I guess its coming along nicely. I'll try and make those flyers also, probably display them on a few notice boards are shopping centres (hopefully not attracting @#*%heads :n: ) Edited September 13, 2005 by Sirolla Quote
ancullen Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Thanks Nick. And no Sirolla, she didn't get your stickers. She got the sole pink sticker. You didn't want that did you??? :n: Quote
ancullen Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 As to the flyers Daven, are you going to be giving them your phone number or email address, or simply putting the RollaClub web address up? I think just putting www.rollaclub.com up (with some details) would be a better idea, that way we have a better chance of filtering out the wankers and only getting truly interested people that will be valuable to the club. Sirolla[RL] Posted September 13, 2005 Author Report Posted September 13, 2005 lol, was talking about the blue AE82 taking the two white stickers :n: Yeh, i'm just gonna put the web address as i think that'll be better. But some people might not have net access so i might include a phone number to contact us on. Just went through Toymods, Twincam and boostcruising and PM those Darwin rolla owners to see if they are interested too. Quote
ancullen Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 I've added a calendar event to BoostCruising, but I haven't ever discovered too many NT members on the other sites mentioned. But then again, I've never looked very hard. And yes, Craig with the blue AE82 stole your stickers for himself and a mate, but I didn't know I was going to run into you the next day, otherwise I would have set some aside. Never mind, the imbalance will be fixed shortly. Quote
