I purchased this '81 KE55 Sedan off ebay for $660 as a donor car for my KE20 build. 225,000KM. Fortunately but unfortunately i've decided to keep the car complete and restore her to orginal condition. I'm not entirely sure of it's history but its in need of panel work, veery minor rust repair and some paint on the front left quarter and door. I love the colour...

It's a 4-kc, 5 speed gearbox, which may end up in my KE20. Runs well mechanically and no smoke. It still has leaded fuel in the tank, which I believe is the reason behind the idleing problem being 10 year old fuel.

Plans for the car are-

*4speed gearbox

*cheviot meshies

*3kb manifold

*service brakes, engine and suspesion.

*perhaps a slightly larger exaust but not loud.

*and any other good bits left over from the 20 build.

Not sure on any performance upgrades, I just want to get it register and drive it.

Some pictures... haven't taken many since I got it and they were posted on my other thread.

Hi mate, I remember initilally when you bought this as a parts car and thought thats too good to pull apart. If anything it would benefit from some tlc. So I'm glad that you have decided to fix her up again, and yes that colour is awesome especially if the finish is spot on .

Good stuff mate.

Wont take much to get going again gav, did ya sort out the backfiring issue after i was there?

I changed the fuel filter and now it's not drawing fuel. It has been suggested the pump has been airlocked but I think I really need to dump the old fuel before I start getting into it. I won't get a chance to look at it till next weekend.

yeah might be a good idea to just drop all that old fuel out and then throw like 20bucks worth of new fuel into and get it happening again man, once you have got new fuel threw the lines, don't put the filter in it straight away, get it sucking fuel threw the lines 1st then fill the filter with new fuel and then put it in the line hopefully that works for ya!!!

I've started cleaning up the cheviots for the 55. An hour and a half saw one almost finished. I'll finish polishing the rim and give it a couple of coats of clear....post-8643-085371700 1284364432_thumb.jpg
