BTW, AMA bike 1/4 mile calculator reckons that my bike will do a 13.1 but with all the variables I still say 14.

I tell em - because.

A. It's cheaper than buying another car.

B. My Corolla will last ANOTHER 24 years (their new S--tbox wont).

C. I recycle. Better for the environment.

D. CAUSE I CAN.

 

I also get the same crap about my Clubsport as well. Pretty much the same answers there too.

Trev, my thoughts are something like if someone is into 4WDing and they're telling me about how great their car is at 4WDing then I say, well my cars faster than yours they will say something like I don't care. My car does what I want it to do and I'm happy any compromises it has.

Same as if you say your bike is faster but I say my car is safer and more practical, I'm sure you'd say you don't care.

I think the saying "it's like comparing apples with oranges" applys here.

 

Plus it's whatever you're in at the time. You can't say, well I'm in my crappy daily now but if I was in my uber fast and impractical track car I'd whip you into the ground.

I always remind the haters that bring emissions onto the table that the amount of pollution created making there fancy new low emissions car is more than my old rolla would make in a lifetime. Not to mention that half the parts now are sourced from China where environmental protection laws are unheard of.

 

But yeah, losers who've never done anything in there life but work 9-5 and pay other people to do things for them aren't the kind of people that would be impressed by anything that didn't have new car smell, or made them feel like they're better than everyone else.

Although I am amazed at vehicles like the Prius (lets be honest it is clever), has anyone who ever bought a Prius ever seen a Lithium mine?.

The amount of fuel and resources used to extract Lithium, from the mine, to shipping, to processing, to production in batteries is horrendous.

And then what do you do with a toxic battery once it's dead ?.

Ah hybrids, they just keep on giving...

Looks like we're both right. Up to current gen models use nickel metal. The new plug in hybrid used Lithium Ion.
