Jordanrolla Posted September 8, 2010 Author Report Posted September 8, 2010 there isnt a hint of an intercooler behind the grill without it painted. I do plan to fix all the small dings and just a simple re-spray in gloss white. Might spray the wheels matt black aswell. Quote
Sloth Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Evo engine in a rolla sounds like it could be some awesome fun. How does it drive? Quote
Dropz Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 ao with the stock xmember being used what sort of mods were required to get the engine mounted? any pics of that? Quote
Jordanrolla Posted November 22, 2010 Author Report Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) i had to take a little out of the sump to sit it lower than what it was going to be, could of got away without cutting. other than that just a case of making up mounts both block and x member. Jordanrolla Posted December 12, 2010 Author Report Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) Brake's finally sorted and i have now had a chance to have a half decent drive of this thing with NO clunks or concerning noises coming from the car. Without a doubt or exaggeration i would have to say this is the most FUN i have ever had in a car! It is everything its supposed to be which is built to be tough as nails, quick, awsome handling and is good enough on the juice to drive everyday. To drive this thing is pure bliss, the satisfaction from building 100% of this car is a great feeling. I don't wanna sound like I'm ego tripping or nothing but f@$k I BUILD A GOOD CAR! shortened the struts last light and a vid of just a moderate acceleration. http://s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff297/Jordan1977/?action=view¤t=Picture166.mp4 Just short of a lsd installation for skid vids Edited December 12, 2010 by Jordanrolla Quote
beerhead Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Sounds porn dude - great to see you've got the beast on the road - I can see the light of the tunnel on my KE now - can't wait for the joy of driving it. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 And moved to the technical builds section. Well done mate. :rolls: Quote
7FOUR7 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 hats off to you sir, awesome conversion!! Quote
Trev Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Doesn't even sound like a mitsu, good work. One thing I loved about working on 4g63's are those big sharp cam gears :laff: Quote
Jordanrolla Posted December 13, 2010 Author Report Posted December 13, 2010 thanks guys, feels so good to be able to pull it up in the garage and not put it on stands and fix it (or try to). I agree trev, alot of the time it doesnt even sound like a 4g63 especially in the video but in the car if you listen close enough you'd be able to pick it. I think its got alot to do with the exhaust, the way it was made. It may get changed later on. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Nice welds on the mounts btw. Quote
BUZ440 Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) Nice work mate, the sound of a 4G63 with a 20G roar is wikked, make sure to use the stock E7 ECU with EVOscan, you might be surprised how much tuning and datalogging you can get out of it, and with the super AUD is a bargain with the cable and software, My only suggestion other than the nifty engine mounts, most RWD converted 4G63 engines i have seen use an engine plate mount to the stock driver(front in your case) engine mount on the chassis rails otherwise than the massive torque these engines spit on 4WD system to a RWD is gonna be awesome Edited December 18, 2010 by NISROLA Quote
comtoy Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 damn i like it should do some engine mods to this extreme then it will be a handful http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1575817 Quote
