ballzy Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 hey guys and girls i have been wondering what is the biggest diffrence between a ta22 and an ae71 t 50 gear box are the bellhousing anything alike?? what would you need to put a ta22 ta23 t50 behind a 4a?? Quote
corollaart Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 The biggest differance is the bell housing one being t series engine the other a series ,and the shifter position is different, and the out put shaft. (one 20 spline ,one 22 spline, can't remember which one) They can be changed but you have got to work out where the bearing and washers on the front of the box go or youll have a huge oil leak. Have a link some where will post tonite. rob Quote
parrot Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 A few people have managed it with quite a bit of mucking around, but I can't see that it is worth it. Sell the box you have, will probably get say $150 for it, and then buy a 4A box for probably $200 Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 T series - 20 spline A series - 22 spline Agreed, sell the T and buy an A version. Quote
